If you don't mind my asking, what are you asking for the Tracer?  I'm not looking, but as mine was stolen today, I'm trying to get a feel for what they're worth now for when I deal with the adjuster.

Sorry about your bike. Here is a list of bikes for sale...

........ but for now it seems pretty great!

One thing I noticed IMMEDIATLY was how the wind hits my helmet now - it never did with the barn door, all I felt was turbulence.  Now I have actual AIR blowing through the vents in my helmet...

I didn't understand why it would not work as Givi advertises it for 2015-'17. Glad you got it sorted, and it is an improvement, Bonus!

Loved my KLR, almost bullet proof. There are lots of options for all of us and all bikes. Some really creative stuff on ADV rides!

Yep, everyone should have a KLR in the stable! Bashing around off-pavement is highly entertaining and educational. And it makes you grateful for things like power and ABS.

I'm considering an offer of a trade of my Suzuki VanVan 200 for a Kawi KLX230 to get some off pavement time.

Would this be a good option for entertainment and education?

From a technical standpoint it’s a big answer that would be easier in person and with components in front of me.

To put it simply, shifting at the wrong times (not following the arrows that indicate when a shift is possible), forcing gear changes when the conditions aren’t correct so that the gears don’t smoothly engage or disengage as designed, or not being firm enough with an up shift or downshift such that components in the trans aren't fully engaged or disengaged and are then loaded or unloaded in a partially shifted position, etc….

Found this youtube video on the subject. I guess incorrectly using a quickshifter could cause damage too?

My wife's Toyota has a radar assisted cruise control; the idea is if the radar sensor sees an object in front of the car that is too close, the car will automatically apply the brake.

Sometimes, the object will be a parked car, or a mailbox or other object that is around a curve and is sensed as being in front of the car.  I do not like the system; there is a way to not have the radar help turned on.

Funny, I recently had a new Toyota rental with ACC and was really impressed as it had no false readings. When I tried ACC in a 2015 Volvo years ago I hated it for some of the reasons metioned above. The following video (posted earlier in another thread) shows how the ACC works at 5:30 min and gets high praise at the 31 min mark.

  6. It happened to me on a 2017 FJ09. Luckily I was able change to neutral to pull over. Engine stayed at max RPM till I turned the key off. Started up normal after a couple of minutes and continued home and it happened again. Put her on a trailer and found it was a known  problem with Yamaha who said it was a fault regarding heated grips and quickshifter. Repairs were free of charge on Yamaha. There is a thread about it somewhere on the forum.
