That's purty......good luck with sale!

Get the bike you want IMHO, even if you have to pay a bit more. I would "at minimum" get a 900GT year model, like a 19/20 if you can find one, the changes made up from the FJ is worth it. On another note, the Suzuki V-Stroms are some of the best all around motorcycles that are out there and with a rabid following, I have previously owned 3 of them. The available accessories are unparalleled, and they are dead nuts reliable and easy to ride as well. Good luck with whatever you end up doing.

I am still on the fence about switching from AGM over to Lithium ion, not sure for me that the lemon is worth the squeeze, and the reliability still sounds sketchy.

This isn't for American models by the way "for anyone wondering"......they don't have this feature.

Located in Australia, I too have never had anything like this flagged on a safety certificate - which in my state is only needed when selling. Kind of adds to the suspicion they are trying for a money grab. Bike is out of warranty now, and they probably dont realise I tend to do all major bike works myself once out of warranty outside of a general service.
So.....dishonest people don't always live in America? Glad you checked yourself, and shame on the tech/techs for trying to pull a fast one on you.

Send the Admins a private message, overall the traffic on this site and participation is very low.

Front springs are cheap, and yes you'll "likely" want to do them and of course new fluid if you swap the rear out. Yeah at that weight you are good, but suspension being properly dialed in for the rider is very noticeable.

You lost me at "crash helmet". 😀

No way I would be sanding/narrowing the screen "in particular a tinted screen", I just had to barely tilt my bar back a bit so the handguards cleared. Could always lose the handguards too, but man I wouldn't be trying to mod an expensive and perfectly good screen. My 2 cents, if even worth that. LOL

I may eventually send mine in, although it runs quite well now. Thanks for the honest write up.

I have a Forte GT as well, a 2023. Both of us have a Tracer and Kia!
Mine is also a 23, with the GT2 package and DCT 7 speed.......loving it!!!

Wrong bike for you IMHO, something like a Suzuki V-Strom or Super Tenere makes more sense for where you live/ride and the size of ya.

My fear of ice/slick trumps anything else, so the risk just isn't worth it to me.

You can't see it when you are sitting on it! Russell has a sport option that is not quite as wide, but if you are going to spend big bucks on a Russell seat, why not get the more comfortable version?
Nah just too damn ugly and old man looking, plus I find my Bagster seat to be very good looking and very comfortable as well. I think the 21 and up Tracer is a bit fugly, but the original FJ and Tracer 900 GT look quite pleasing.

All my cars and motorcycles get a name, and yeah they are all of the female variety. My Tracer is Candace, and my Forte GT is Pearl.

I have a hard time believing that TPS differ much from brand to brand or model to model, they are just a rheostat correct? Wouldn't programming in the ECM/ECU be what makes the difference?
-
45F is about low as I will go on clean/dry roads, and I just wear light layers under my Aerostich Darien jacket and pants......love those heated grips!!!!
-
Russel seats "IMHO" are FUGLY and belong on a Wing or a cruiser, but yeah I hear they are very comfy.

Bagster........best seat ever had, and I have run both Sargent and Corbin on multiple bikes.

On my year GT, the install was taking off the seat and removing 2 easily accessible bolts, and then replacing with included longer bolts. So what's different on the new model to make it a PITA?

This makes more sense for my new car concerning Ohio Winters, this state might lead the way for most salt used.

I wouldn't worry about the mileage much, these engines can go 100K plus miles without blinking an eye.
