Kindred spirits we must be…  😀

A recent search of new vehicles with my mandatory ‘V8-Manual-Sedan’ combo yielded exactly one option.   So in a moment of incredibly irresponsible financial management, I spent my next decade’s worth of motorcycle money on a CT5-V Blackwing Cadillac.   And I couldn’t be happier…

    Because honestly, who doesn’t need a 668 hp, 3 pedal, 200 mph Cadillac?  🤷‍♂️

Happy hunting for your next moto-toy!

    BAD ASS.....what year is that?

Exactly.  No Trike or Spyder for me, a Miata sounds like a good idea if I give up riding.  (A 3 wheeler is very impractical for me as I live in a condo with limited parking and expensive.)

I will NEVER ride/own a trike or in particular that abomination called the Spyder.......2 wheels only, or it's convertible time.

  3. Sorry to hear that my man, that is certainly a bad run of luck and you're dealing with it best you can......getting older aint for sissies. I hear about alot of serious cycling injuries both on and off pavement, IMHO it's much more dangerous than riding motorcycles.

    🤣if only 22 pounds

I was 202, now I am at 175 "so I have lost 27 pounds".......52 years young and overall in the best shape I've been since a much younger man, Lifestyle changes can go a long way, in particular when doing it a bit at a time so the body adjusts naturally. My problem is the opposite of yours, my gear is hanging off me now. 😂

I went to look at the 21 , nice bike ! but as I as chatting with the salesman about my decision process he showed me a 2019 that literally just came in only 500 km on it as is a repo. I think I just made up my mind as its basically brand new  and will leave me extra cash for gear as I need a new helmet etc.

It,s over 3k less than the 9gt the only thing the 9gt has that I really want is the cruise control . If money was no object im sure the gt would be in the garage !

The 19/20 has cruise control. ;)

Yeah but the factory cruise control only starts to work at 4th gear.

Do a search for McCruise on this forum. Their add-on cruise control works in lower gears which is helpful.

Cruise control is for 55 and higher IMHO, and cruise control only working in 4th-6th most certainly isn't a deal breaker for the masses. Why would anyone want to modify/add to the factory ride by wire CC system?

The 2020 tracer 900 that I have been looking at has the short sport windshield. The other bikes i was looking at is a 21 9gt with 16000 km on it or a 2020 gt with 27000 km, forgetting the km's is it worth getting the 21? I know it has the slightly bigger engine ,semi active suspension etc. Any thoughts would be great! Im getting close to a decision. The 2020 900 being cheaper would free up some cash for some gear and future up grades.

I am not a fan of the 21/22 Tracers, so I am more than happy/content with my 20.......save the extra money for gear and upgrades IMHO and get the 20. ;) Plus.......my 20 is faster than my buddy's 22 and it also doesn't like to wheelie as well as mine either. 😂

Ride365- Have you seen what a set Dunlop RS3's cost this year? I run them on my bikes also.

Last couple years a set was $250.78 in the US. 108.55 for a front 120/70-17 and 142.23 for a rear 180/55-17.

    Now they are 379.70 for a set. 167.46 for a front 120/70-17 and 212.24 for a rear 180/55-17.

Now they are almost as expensive as the Michelin Road series tires. I'm glad i changed tires on all my bikes last fall before storage to get me by for a while.

I paid like $135 for a rear and $117 for a front last Summer.......so climbing back up again I see. I have always considered what we must pay for all things motorcycles to be a "fun tax", but yeah the fun tax is getting ridiculous, can't buy much groceries for under $100 these days either. 🙄

  9. It's a fine line between the right contact profile, and too much air makes for a harsher ride, less contact, abnormal wear, and not enough air can be ill handling, abnormal wear and more sidewall flex. I "typically" run 35 front and 38 rear, anything more than that IMHO and experience, I don't care for how it rides/handles. Not riding on the same side/lane of road makes a difference in wear as well, as the road crown is different on both sides. I get extremely even wear on my tires, and of course I try to ride plenty of twisty roads regularly as well. :) I do adjust per the temps outside like Dave suggests, and I have lost 22 pounds over the last year, so I weigh less now as well.

  10. Wife was an ER nurse for years, and for me the biggest plus for proper gear is against road rash.......wifey says you don't want that, and she saw some nightmare examples of such. Impact resistance is obviously nice, but overall for me it is about protecting my skin, but the helmet is for impact and faceplant situations. Gear is so damn good now, even the bargain stuff is decent and allows good mobility.
