Before purchasing a 2021 Tracer 9GT I owned a 2013 V-Strom 650. I had a Dan Vesel Backrest on this bike which allowed me to do longer rides. I kept this backrest and figured an easy way to install it on my new Tracer. I drilled 2 holes in Rear Rack (Seat Handle) and bolted it on. These holes and mounting bolts are under the seat and I am happy with how it works and looks. Thought I would post this to show others.

I finally installed the Givi WL901 Top Case and I like the smaller size. It will work for me and I can get a larger case if needed.

I was looking for a Radiator Guard for my 2021 Tracer and decided that Evotech was the best option but they were hard to find in the US. I saw some on Ebay from outside of the States but shipping costs seemed high. During my search I found the manufacturer, Evotech Performance, located in the United Kingdom. I checked their price and it was cheaper than Ebay, so I decided to buy from them. Total price was $52.49 GBP ($71.40) plus 10.83 GBP ($14.73) shipping to Iowa, TOTAL = $86.13 It only took 10 days for delivery using Royal Mail and then USPS in the States. I had the same problem removing the torx head screws in this area and ended up using a drill to remove the damaged screw head. This worked great in this tight area and did not cause damage to other parts. The remaining threaded portion was easy to remove. I purchased new screws and was careful to not over torque.

I just purchased and received a Givi Mounting Plate and WL901 Top Case for my 2021 9GT from TourandRide.com. Mounting plates have been difficult to find in the US. The SRA2159 Mounting Plate was back-ordered and they just got some in. This is the Monokey mount so there are many Top Case options to choose from. Their site shows they have four of these mounts in stock. I'm in Iowa so don't plan on installing this for a couple of months.

I purchased a 1" Rubber-Insulated Clamp from our local Menard's (house/hardware store). It cost less than $2 and fits tight on the frame with slight modifications.

I don't think you beat the small size and ease of repair with the Dynaplug Repair Kit. I have used these a number of times with excellent results. They have a few different kit options but the plugs are the same for each kit.

I felt very lucky to be able to purchase a 2021 Tracer 9GT since US dealers received very few new Yamaha’s this year. I wonder if availability for all bikes will increase in 2022. The 9GT is an awesome bike and a blast to ride especially after owning V-Strom’s 650 for the past 13 years.

I installed a Tutoro Chain Oiler on my 2021 Tracer 9GT. I used this unit on my 2013 V-Strom 650 and liked how it worked. This simple system is easily adjustable to keep the chain oiled without too much fling.

I installed a set of Woodcraft Sliders. Their site recommends the shorter pucks but I purchased the Standard Pucks to provide more protection. I like how they really aren't noticeable on the bike.

Hello Tracer/MT-09 Enthusiasts, After riding two different V-Strom 650's for the last 13 years I decided it was time for something different. The new 2021 Tracer 9 GT has more power, is about the same size and weight, and has factory cruise. It looks like a great next bike. I have my name on one and just waiting for it to show up. Curious how many US dealers have the new 2021 Tracer on their floor? I don't think it's very many. Also wondering what states these dealers are located in. The weather is finally warming up in the Midwest and hope to be riding my new Tracer very soon.
