Popular Post motoontheweekend
Recently, I took a trip up to BC Canada near the Vancouver area and rented a Tracer GT for a day. I ended up doing a tour of the Sea to Sky Highway, stopping to see sights along the way. I had seen some videos of this highway on Youtube before but riding this road in person blew me away. The entire road (I did a round trip from Vancouver to Whistler) was a constant barrage of amazing views. It's essentially a long flowy road with mostly gentle curves that takes you past every type of natural beauty imaginable - river rapids, island views, mountain scapes, bay views. Not to mention all the little towns and attractions on the way. I've ridden quite a few of the top roads in California and I still think this takes the cake. What an amazing road and I would highly recommend touring it if you ever find yourself on the west coast of Canada. Here is a video clip from a section of the highway that overlooks the bay. I took this during sunset, which makes it all the better. https://youtu.be/XhK2S8zL0QY. Edited July 29, 2022 by motoontheweekend 8 5
Supporting Member piotrek Posted July 30, 2022 Supporting Member Share Posted July 30, 2022 Nice ride, and thanks for the video. I have been to the area several times on work business, but never had/made time to ride when there. My daughter is eyeing to go to UBC next year... so hopefully the stars are aligning for some more leisure time in BC. 2
motoontheweekend
Hope you make it out there and that you are blessed with sunny skies when you do 😀. I was lucky as the next day after my ride it poured the entire day!
Supporting Member knyte Posted August 1, 2022 Supporting Member Share Posted August 1, 2022 (edited) What a great trip on a bike!! I've driven it several times, all the way past Duffey Lake, Lillooet, and on to HWY 97. You can't really go wrong with either route - Sea to Sky, or HWY 1 north and on to HWY 97. The Fraser Canyon is spectacular, and I can't wait to ride it. Really sad that HWY 8 washed out between Merritt & Spences Bridge (not to mention the loss of homes), it was a beautiful, twisty, quiet route. Thanks for the pic & vid...MAN you make me miss BC more than I already do... Subbed! larolco
You all just stay away. These road are mine. Seriously, though. Just pick a road that looks twisty and go. They're all fantastic. There are better than the Sea to Sky, but don't ask me what they are. They're good because they are quiet. #8 was a beauty until it was no more - my favourite detour. 1 1
