motoontheweekend
Noticed one of the 4 handlebar bolts on my 2021 Tracer 9 GT was coming undone. Does anyone know the torque spec for these bolts are?
littlebruv
If its the same as my 2017 Tracer then the torque settings are 4x M8 bolts 22 N.m (2.2 kgf.m 16 lb.ft)
KrustyKush
My 21 GT came with the bars visibly crooked in the mounts. The manual says to start with the lower holders loose. Then tighten the upper flanges to 22 nm, then tighten the lower holder bolts to 40 nm. After I did this, my handlebars were straight. It just might be a good idea to start with those holder bolts slightly loose so they can float while you torque the upper flanges.
motoontheweekend
@KrustyKush Thanks for that. I'm assuming that's coming from the service manual? The owners manual has a section about adjusting the handlebar position but then it says to contact your dealer to adjust it 🙄. I've looked online for a service manual and the only hits that come up are physical copies from China or a spanish digital version that a guy in Poland is selling on Ebay. Might take a chance on the spanish copy since it's only $12 and I figure I'll at least be able to make out the torque specs 😁.
motoontheweekend
Also, did you use loctite for these bolts?
motoontheweekend
Well, my earlier googling failed me as I just found out you could buy official manuals from https://www.yamahapubs.com/.
