johnmark101
Put new tires on the Tracer 900 GT and was cleaning all the parts before reassembly. The collar that fits into the center of the sprocket carrier would not go back in. I tried to be certain it was perfectly straight and level before insertion but no luck after quite a bit of trying. It has always been a very close fit but normally will go in after a couple tries. Not this time. Put the collar in the freezer for a few minutes and it dropped right in. Just wondering if anyone else had the same experience? Photo to show the part in question. There is nothing like spending a day riding with friends in the grip of a shared obsession. Supporting Member betoney Posted July 15, 2023 Supporting Member Share Posted July 15, 2023 I have never removed that part. I have 2 different rear rims so that I can quickly swap for the ride I'm going on, either sport or touring. I swap the sprocket carrier and rubber dampers between rims frequently but have never removed any other part. ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***
lather
I've only had my Tracer 4 months so no tire changes yet but I do have that problem with the spacers on my 950 Multistrada.

Yeah, there is really no need to remove it, but I did have it fall out on my work table while cleaning the sprocket in the past. However, it would always fit back in. I have a habit of disassembling everything for cleaning when I swap tires. 2 There is nothing like spending a day riding with friends in the grip of a shared obsession.
