  1. Welcome from another ex cogger. My history is similar to yours, started ona 72 Honda XL250, 10 years on a VFR then 4 Concours; an 86, 2 08s and an 09. Close to 300,000 miles on the 3 C14s two of which were totaled in accidents and the 09 a blown motor. Enjoying my 22 Tracer9GT, love the power and nimbleness. I do miss the shaft and the windshield and TPS but installed a Tutoro auto chain oiler that is working well.
  2. My MityVac has been collecting dust for 15 years. I won it at a bike rally. I used it once and didnt like it. I just finished flushing the front brakes on my Multistrada with my Motion Pro bleeder that looks just like the one betoney linked. Took about 5 minutes. Takes about 20 minutes for the four calipers on my van.
  3. Finally got my Tracer back after 6 Weeks. It took 5 weeks to get the replacement ECU. Bike is running great, as it was before. I can't really tell any difference.
  4. I did back to back oil analyses from Blackstone on 5W40 T6 and Motul most expensive full synthetic at about 6000 miles (on my 2008 Concours 14). The T6 did drop a bit in viscosity but not significantly. Blackstone said I could extend the change interval. The Motul held it viscosity better but the wear indicaters were fine for both. Now that Rotella comes in 15w40 I am fine with it year round.
  5. My Tracer 9 GT has been at the dealer for 3 weeks. They told me the ECU failed and the have ordered a new one. Anyone else have this happen? My Tracer was running fine, confused how the ECU could fail.
  6. My bike has been at dealer 2 weeks waiting for parts. I bought a pDF manual here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/186084627127?hash=item2b538212b7:g:bmkAAOSwzYNj1uU1 I also bought the paper manual from Yamaha but it is difficult to use since the table of contens sucks and you cannot search.
  7. They main reason I run an auto oiler is for long trips. I just did a 6000 miler last month. I don't want to deal with chain maintenance in motel parking lot after a long day on the road. 15 years ago I switched to shaft drive bikes for Touring for that reason. (After having to change chains and sprockets twice while on trips on my 900 Ninja). Now at 71 years old I feel I need a lighter bike than those big shaft drive bikes so I am back to chain drive.
  8. Mine is scheduled for the reflash and the o2 sensor on the 26th. My bike runs great EXCEPT for taking off from a stop.
  9. I received a recall letter for an ECU reflash for the 2022 Tracer 9 GTthat is supposed to fix various problems and I have scheduled an appointment for it. If I were you I would check to see if you Tracer is covered by this recall. An owner on the Tracer facebook page had this done and he says it was a big improvement.

  11. looks like they have added a rubber cover where the wire connects to the sensor.
  12. I like having the oil nozzle on the rear sprocket. It makes it easier to monitor the flow rate. I also think it works better to transfer the oil to the chain as 2and3 says.
  13. I have noticed some vibration at the bars. It killed my Garmin Zumo cradle electric contacts. I solved this with foam rubber vibration dampers for both ends of the Ram mount. I also added Grip puppies to the grips more because they are narrower than I like but they also help with vibration. Bar end weights could be a problem due to the hand guards. As for drive mode I almost never take mine out of sport. The front end does get light on hard accel, glad to have the lift control.
  14. Download the instalation manual, it gives a detailed explanation of how the oiler works. https://www.tutorochainoiler.com/en-us/pages/tutoro-auto-workshop-manual
  15. The night before we rode the ferry we spent in Astoria, OR and the next morning rode into Washington and US 101 along the coast with a stop at Seaview Beach to get pictures with the Pacific in the background. The Tracer sure makes those BMWs look fugly!
  16. Just back from a 6000 mile trip and the Tutoro worked well and saved me the hassle of chain lubrication in motel parking lots. Temperatures ranged from 50 to 105 F so I did have to check the flow and adjust several times. In 6080 miles I used 7/8th of a full resorvoir.
  17. Here are our bikes on the Bainbridge Ferry across Puget Sound. Bike get to go to the front of the line to board the ferry so we had a great view as we approached downtown Seattle
  18. I returned to home base yesterday after 6078 miles. I had planned to update this report as the ride progressed but got busy having fun plus my crappy Surface Tablet does not work well with this forum. Below are link to a track of our trip, in two parts because Google maps limit file uploads to 5 MB. The four of us, who live in different areas, met up in Amarrillo and split up in Phillipsburg. Part 1 Amarillo, TX to Astoria, OR https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1Pfne7AKZUAzRt60iD2fZoklz9YqRABs&usp=sharing Part 2 Astoria, OR to Phillipsburg, KS https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1huzcFr4lQL0ytmA3acvI70qrW51CYbM&usp=sharing
  19. I had the same results. Headwinds were a big factor in lower mpg and keeping below 70 resulted in improvement. I think at high altitude the FI system injects less fuel since the air has less oxygen. Better mpg but less hp.
  20. I m on the final day of a 6000 mile trip. All but about 400 miles on mode 1. Average for the trip is about 46 mpg.
  21. Yes I noticed the new Google maps layer for wild fires. We were originally going to ride us 20 today but it was closed due to fires. Hopefully our route tomorrow will not be too smokey.
