  1. The smoke at Rowena was nothing compared to todays ride from Seatle to Grand Coulee. I'm pretty sue we passed some great wceery unfortunetly we could barely see it.
  2. View from Vista House on Columbia River Gorge near Portland, Oregon
  3. We met up in Amarillo Saturday and rode to Salida Co Sunday, Rock Springs WY Sunday then Rexburg ID and LA Grande, OR tonight. Astoria WA tomorrow. Then working our way home. Highlite will be Glacier NP
  4. The FOBO sensors display psi AND tire temperature. At the start of a ride the psi is close to what the cold pressure was measured by my digital tire gauge and the tire temp is same as ambient. As the tires warm up the psi climbs to about 4 or 5 psi above the cold pressure. Front tire temp settles at about 90-95 and rear about 94-98 depending on pavement temp. I have noticed that different brand tires seam to heat heat up differently. One thing I liked about the Garmin system is the Zumo app stored a history of tire pressure and would display a graph of pressure over the course of a ride.
  5. I have never had either the Garmin or the fobo leak. The units on the Concours, which were internal seemed to have a very slow leak, 1 psi over a 3 or 4 days. I had 4 other bikes and did not have to top them off as often as the concours.
  6. I want to add this to my Tracer also. I got used to tire pressure monitors on my Concours and RT, they saved me big trouble several times over the years. I am happy with FOBO Bike TPM on my Multistrada. https://my-fobo.com/product-family/FOBO_Bike_2 They work with a phone app and provide real time info. The problem is they say use only with metal valve stems and the Tracer has rubber. I have used Garmin TPM in the past but there current motorcycle GPS no longer supports it. The Garmin TPS would display on the Zumo 3xx series but does not work with the Zumo XT series. When I change tires next time I will swap out the rubber stems for some stainless steel and add some FOBOs to the Tracer.
  7. I've only had my Tracer 4 months so no tire changes yet but I do have that problem with the spacers on my 950 Multistrada.
  8. i'm going to look for that. An indexed PDF is so much more convenient than a prented manual. Back in April when I bought my T9GT I could not find one online!
  9. I was looking at accessories on the Euro Yamaha site and see that they have a set of slim panniers for the Tracer 9. I'm not sure as the photos were not great but I believe the red panels in the original picture are the slim panniers, which would explain the different shape. I actually have a spare set of panels and think I may try to paint them matching red
  10. Looking at your picture of the red colored panels and my US 22 9 GT bags, the panels are not the same shape and the bags themsleves are slightly different.
  11. I looked at the clutch section in the shop manual, it includes a paragraph on cable adjustment at the clutch end with a range of 47.1 to 54.8 mm. i just measured mine and it is 53 mm. I am thinking that shortening this cable length to say 48 mm should improve the late engagement. UPDATE and CORRECTION. When I started to make the adjustment I realized my thinking was wrong. Shortening the cable will have the opposite effect. However if someone elses setting is on the short side setting it closure to 54 mm should help.
  12. Agree, I doubt free play will change anything.
  13. I have the same complaint as tgas with my 22 9GT. The clutch engagement from feels very awkward compared to my 4 other bikes, including my 2017 R3. I am going to try playing with free play.
  14. That's awesome! I have been yearning to get back on track. After about 50 track days over the last 25 years I quit when our local track shut down due to covid. At 66 and with lots of grey hair they used they use to call me Gandalf of the Track. Unfortunately our track has pretty much stopped doing track days for motorcycles because the higher paying car guys are taking all the days. Also at 70 now I definetely feel I have lost some mojo and not sure I belong on the track anyway. Congratulations to you!
  15. I run a Givi Monkey 47 litre on a Givi SRA2159. "Max5.5 KG inside case" is printed on the SRA2159! I keep the load at no more than about 20 lbs. I put the heavier stuff in the side cases. I don't think the weight limit is a handling issue but a potential mounting plate failure issue. I have lost a topcase on another bike due to a Givi plate failure, although it was NOT the SRA 2159.
  16. My experience is similar to the OP's. On my 22 the Fuel gauge and the fuel light are not very accurate, as far as I can tell they come on with about a gallon left. The Fuel Con display is better but still about 2 tenths higher than I can put in. I am averaging about 48 mpg.
  17. Thanks for the reply. Axle nut torque for 22 9GT is 77 Ft LBs and slack is 45-50 mm. I also use the motion pro alignment tool. Also on the 22 the chain guard prevents using a screw driver to jam the sprocket to force the axle tight to the adjuster. So I used a small flat blade screw driver at bottom of axle square to prevent if rom roating while I torqued the nut. The twenty odd chain drive bikes I have owned all used cotter pins on the axle nut. I prefer this over the lock nut which I suspect is causing the cocking problem.
