  1. Thanks to all for the replies!
  2. I will redo in the morning with a screwdriver but also order the jammer tool for future use.
  3. No it does not look nearly thar bad. There is no deformation that I can see of the slider. The square of my axle is slightly not flush with the slider, as if it is rotated a degree or two. Also, my slider looks different in design from the one in the picture. I will post a picture when I get home.
  4. I did not use anything. I followed instructions in owners manual. Do I need a new axle?
  5. After doing my first chain slack adjustment I noticed the square on the axle is not flat against the adjustment slider. I assume this happened when I torqued the nut. Is there a trick to preventing this?
  6. Front two are 44 lb-ft and the rear two are 33.
  7. My 2022 9 GT has a different fuel info display than any of the many motorcycles I have owned over 50 years. It also has the typical bar type fuel level guage that seems unsually imprecise, showing a full tank until the tank is actually almost half empty. But it also display fuel consumed to the tenth of a gallon. This display seems to be amazingly precise and accurate. So far after 1200 miles of fill ups the amount of gas I have put in to fill the tank has been within one tenth of a gallon of the fuels consumed display.
  8. Thanks for the replies. I tried prying the old washer off witha small flat blade but could not get it off. I was afraid of damaging the threads if I tried any harder. The magnetic plug does use a crush washer. I just prefer the magnetic plug as it traps any metal particles.
  9. When I did my 600 mile oil change I bought a new crush washer for the oil plug but I could not get the old washer off of the bolt. Any one else experience this? I don't usually worry about replacing crush washers but the salesman offered me one when I asked fort a filter and figured why not. Anyway I boughta magnetic plug on Ebay and plan to install that next change.
  10. I have been using a set of TOZO Bluetooth earbuds but it is a challenge to get my helmet on without knocking one or both out of my ear(s). I will try a neck gaiter and see if it helps. I have a Cardo Bold which I use when riding with friends and can plug in wired earplugs but the sound is better with the Bluetooth earbuds.
  11. Here is a picture of my Tutoro installation. I am not thrilled with the cosmetics but it is working. I am still in the process of fine tuning the flow rate.
  12. I ordered the Trek kit with the Plus 25 oil plus the Pro Fix bracket.
  13. Thanks for the info and the photo, very helpful. I was studing the 9 GT yesterday and have decided on the same basic location.
  14. I am going to buy the Tuturo. Has anyone here installed one on a 9 GT? Tutoro gives you several installation options, would be great to see pictures.
  15. I am interested in this also. But I am also looking at this one: https://www.tutorochainoiler.com/en-us
  16. I put 220,000 miles on two 08 C14s in 15 years and other than the heat the only issue I ever had were self inflicted. The first one was rear-ended and totaled by a Corolla at 175,000 miles. The Corolla was toataled too! I am looking forward to a long and happy relationship with the Tracer
  17. I am loving the Tracer! So much lighter and nimbler. I thought I would miss the Connie's power but the Tracer is a beast at 9000 RPM. Does not have the top speed but it pulls as hard. Have not done any long rides yet but I doubt it will be as comfortable as the Connie. About to order some crash bars so I can mount highway pegs.
  18. My tires were good and well warmed up. Two of us were riding a farm road after visiting Monument Rocks, 70 foot high chalk formations. There was no visible moisture on the road but apparently it had recently rained and the road was super slippery. Both of us were slip sliding and almost went down several times, the last one got me. My theory is that the chalk in the area does something strange with moisture. It does not look wet but is super slippery.
  19. I am 100% with you on this. My riding buddies have all changed from sport tourers to adventure bikes. They insist on including some dirt or gravel roads on our trips so I have to plan an alternate paved bypass. I just bought a Tracer 9 GT to replace my beloved Concours 14 which I totaled last August crashing on a slippery wet dirt road in Kansas! The clutch resorvoir was cracked and the bike unridable. I had to get towed 210 miles! I do have a KLX 250 with knobbies but I just ride it only locally and by myself so I don't have to keep up with anyone, just putt around.
  20. My Garmin Zumo GPS saves every ride I make with it as a GPX format track. I upload the track to my PC and display it with Garmin Mapsource or Basecamp. It seems to me the track meets all your requirements. Basecamp will also convert a track to a route but I don't really like the result. But it is fairly easy to use Mapsource to build a route on top of the track you want to duplicate. And with Google maps you can export a route as a KMZ file and then import it into Garmin Basecamp and create a route in Basecamp. I belong to a riding club and the club shares route files in Garmin format and GPX format.
  21. Welcome. I just bought a red one myself, hope to pick her up next week. What are your plans for improved comfort. My old bones gonna probably need that too.
  22. I will pick up my 2022 next week. I have already ordered a Givi topcase plate and tank loc ring. I already have a Givi V47 topcase and Small Givi tank loc bag that I swap around on my RT and Multistrada. Need to order Ram mounts for GPS, Phone and Radar Detector. I'd love to see photos of your setup!
  23. Thanks to everyone for the welcomes! Yes, I am still on the COG forum trying to sell off a bunch of spare parts and farkles to help pay for all the stuff I'm ordering for the Tracer🤑
