justplainbill Posted December 24, 2015 Share Posted December 24, 2015 I do not own an FJ-09, but it's been high on my wishlist over a year. But now I'm lusting after the XSR900 so there's no telling how it will play out. Two reasons for not pulling the trigger on the FJ have been the lack of cruise control and no speed shifter or other transmission shift assistance. (I have been spoiled riding a gutless but otherwise very slick NC700XD - DCT the last two years.) So, when I stumbled on the Annitori QS Pro quickshifter for the FZ-FJ 07, 09 on eBay I had to check it out. Specs and features seem excellent and the cost is very competitive coming in between $200-300 US; depending on choice of options. (They have a website but it's limited to dealers so I can't access it. If you are interested in details, search eBay for seller ID Annitori-distributing or FJ-09 quickshifter ). Because details for the quickshifter were so well presented and the features so in line with how I would like one to work (it permit up shifts and down shifts with different time delays for each) and it's programmable with a Bluetooth enabled Android device, I had the feeling these guys are way above average technically. So I shot them an email through eBay messages mentioning that MCCruise is the only manufacturer currently supplying cruise control units for these models - and asked if they might be considering producing one of their own, hopefully at a lower price point than the Aussies. Recognizing that the eBay contact guy (Frank) is in sales, so his response might not carry any weight in the company, but he sounded interested and said he would pass my message on to engineering. If these guys manage to meld quickshifter and cruise control into one unit, with downshift blipping, it would be an unbeatable combination. I know you can get the flash and there is another compatible quick shift, just not sure what it costs. Another issue, there have been some reviews of older hardware having failures. I will continue to follow the reviews on this though. Nobody wants to be the experimental lab rat; so they might have FJ-09 customers willing to tell their experiences. Hit 'em up. Their claim on eBay is that the 2016 version of the quickshifter is substantially improved over earlier ones. Maybe hardware too?
