OEM Heated Grips, sticking throttle

Just had mine installed today, I've been waiting on their arrival since October. I gotta say they make a world of difference and the higher settings are painfully hot (at least on the right hand). Upon leaving the dealership and after a few minutes of the grips heating up on "10", the throttle would stick hard wherever i let go of it.  You had to forcefully roll off the throttle.  I turned around and showed the dealer and they took it in the back, trimmed the end off the rubber grip and took it for a quick test ride.  Satisfied it was fixed I was back on my way. Unfortunately that wasn't the issue as once it heated back up sufficiently it was back to involuntary cruise control.  I got home and used a deburring tool to bevel the inside edge of the plastic throttle tube. That allowed it to expand past the bar end a little without binding.  Now i just need to pull everything apart and route the wiring through the wire guides where they belong.   B-|

I've had this with various heated grips - in all cases I just slackened off the the bar end bolts a tad.
This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is.

It definitely sounds like there is something wrong with your grips. I've never had this issue and no trimming or de-burring was necessary. I ran with my grips at 10 for about six straight hours yesterday.

I've had ZERO issues with my OEM heated grips since I installed them almost 11 months ago. That being said, there is NO WAY I can run them at 10! Way too hot!
I've got mine set to 2, 4, 6 and usually run at low or medium.

It was cold here yesterday, 23F (-5C) when I left the house and had only warmed up to about 38F in the afternoon. I actually pulled over shortly into the ride and changed my high setting from 9 to 10 for the first time ever.

Yes, I saw those pictures @keithu! Fantastic! I couldn't tell if that was snow or sand.  :o  I've ridden my FJ-09 to work at 28F a few times wearing my Aerostich Darien, Warm-n-Safe Jacket Liner and Warm-n-Safe Touring Heated Gloves with dual Heat Troller. Along with the heated grips, I'm quite comfortable!

Maybe the loop is not correct(heating wire). Instructions are not that clear.
Check out the Install in the How To section. It clearly shows the routing: linky
