Suitable Battery Charger

I have an AutoXS brand battery charger, model CPL-2054 purchased from Aldi here in Australia. Can anyone tell me if it is suitable to charge the VRLA battery in my MT-9 Tracer?  I intend to leave it attached for about 3 months whilst caravanning where the weather is warmer.  Thanks in anticipation.

IME, as long as there is no load, the AGM/VRLA battery will not need a battery conditioner for 3 months. They are very good at holding a charge under no load, unlike wet batteries.

When I injured my knee I went for about 5 months without riding my R1150GS. That has an "always on" LCD clock. It took 2 months for the Hawker Odyssey battery to drop below 12V with that small load. 1 overnight on the charger and it was ready to go again. 1 short top up when I was ready ride and all was well.

So, unless you have an alarm on the bike, I wouldn't worry.

To answer your question, the online manual does not say but the UK website says "any car or bike battery"

This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is.

I have a Ctek MXS 5.0.
It seems to be a good smart charger, but destroyed a couple of batteries on my previous bike (R6), when left on trickle charge.
The bike sat unused a fair bit without the charger connected, but still went though 3 new batteries in 5 years.
