griskins Posted May 27, 2016 Share Posted May 27, 2016 I have an odd buzz on the front end, as if two pieces are tapping each other at the engine's rpm. It sounds like a tatoo gun or shaver. I have the Yamaha extended windscreen, but otherwise the front end is stock. It only happens at 6 k rpm and above and only at speeds above 45 or so, which makes diagnosis dangerous. When it does happen if I push forward slightly on the wind screen it stops. I have determined that it is not any of the 6 screen mounting contact points, screen height adjustment knobs, headlight adjustment knobs. Anyone else have this and solve it? Short of putting my son on the front fender and going for a ride I can't figure out how to solve this. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

There's a plastic lip on the windscreen mount that the bottom of the screen would vibrate against it at certain RPMs/speed. I taped a piece of foam to it and its been quiet since.
