FWIW - I have found over many years that the best way to travel by motorcycle is solo - that way, no pressure as to where and when to go, when to leave, how fast or slow, where to stop or not stop, etc.   And of course the larger the group the greater the chances of problems and issues arising.

I agree 100%  Every year I organize a week-long road trip for myself, my brother and 2 friends, we are all "on the same page" as far as speed, riding style, distances each day, frequency of rest stops, etc.  Other than that, almost all of my riding is solo for all of the reasons that wordsmith presented.  I have done larger groups before and almost always wished that I was doing my own thing.
