  1. Hey! Get off the sidewalk! Damned hooligans
  2. Happy you got out to ride. Its snowing here.
  3. Ohhh. That's a good spot. Or was until last summer... Hopefully you survived the fires okay and your favorite riding roads weren't torched too bad!
  4. Ask and you shall receive! https://fj-09.org/thread/6415/zx10r-shock-swap-pics
  5. Got the ZX10R shock put on and a subsequent hour test drive. Definitely an improvement! I'm working on a write up for how I did the swap.
  6. Did you swap out the well nuts? The windshield bolts are (were) metric. M5 or M6.
  7. Did you need some kind of spring compressor to get the cartridge apart?
  8. I might have to go the Pattonme DIY route when the time comes... What special tools did you need @sheridan?
  9. The cartridges in each fork leg are different I see. Are you doing maintenance or a re-valve?
  10. The FJ does okay off road. Just the oil pan smacks and breaks. But with a skid plate you're better protected. The rear ABS is annoying. Front ABS is helpful.
  11. Do you recall which bolt? Or more importantly its diameter and length?
  12. Sure thing. Its quite simple, especially if you have a center stand.
  13. I braved the 15mph winds and sandy roads for a quick 1hr jaunt. Then came home and got the rear shock taken off. I will be doing a ZX10R shock swap with the FJ stock spring. The spring compressor will be here Wednesday-ish (thank you Amazon Prime). The forks on the right are for the GSXR. They have GP valving.
  14. Yea, I think black is the way to go. Just my keyboard opinion.
  15. Should have googled first. I downloaded (from Yamaha) my manuals for my YZ250f and 450f. Edit, I looked into this a bit. It appears that Yamaha Australia, Mexico, and Europe provide free downloads of the service manuals. I did not find a comparable site hosted by Yamaha USA.
  16. Doesn't Yamaha give away digital copies of their service manuals? I know they did / do for their dirt bikes.
  17. I admire your perseverance and 'can do' attitude. I chickened out and bought a CalSci
