  1. The simple answer is no. Unless you are an electrical engineer, I would just do as they say above.
  2. My PC 800 had self canceling signals. Took me forever to get back in the habit of shutting them off. I like the STS but not the price.
  3. I mentioned on Facebook how the new BMW 900 XR looked like it was copied from the Tracer and I sure pissed off some BMW fanbois. It sure looks more like the Tracer than the 1000 XR it supposedly is from. I think that is an attaboy for Yamaha. Good design language.
  4. This is from yesterday. Testing it out. Need to upgrade my computer to handle the video. This was made with the GoPro app on my phone. Pardon the crappy music.
  5. I put a mark on the riser and bars with a sharpie to realign after maintenance.
  6. First commute Shinko 705 tire review. I'm not a tire expert so take this for what it's worth. I commute 90 miles one way. The first mile and a half is on sand and gravel road. Drove across some wet grass in my driveway first. Not so great traction, but it's grass. Tires feel great on the sand and gravel. Sand is hard packed since it rained yesterday. This is why I bought them and they work as advertised. I have no plans to offroad the FJ. The rest of my commute was 2 to 4 lane roads and about 10 miles of freeway. The tires are fine on asphalt. Hit speeds over 70 with no issues. Slight hum from the treads but nothing annoying. The few curves I had were no issues grip wise. The bike actually wants to turn in easier probably because the back is a 170, not 180. Just a guess. Feels more flickable. Hard breaking feels normal. You can feel the front treads when you are slowing to a stop but no other time. There feels like a little more vibration in the handle bars but it seemed to get better during the ride. Used the word feels a lot, lol. I feel like I got more than my money's worth. Great tires. I'll update if there are any issues.
  7. I don't drive her hard or have curvy roads near me. If they don't last or work well on the road I'll probably go to the Michelin Road 5.
  8. I live on a 1 1/2 mile long dirt and gravel road. Tired of driving less than 10mph.
  9. Installed some Shinko 705s. Live on a dirt road and need a little extra traction. I'll review them if anyone is interested.
  10. Unless you are an electrical engineer, the answer is no. Some people lower the high beam and keep it on. I drive at night so I won't do that. Also, I'm getting some Denali driving lights to help me out at night and make me more visible during the day.
  11. I took a demo ride on the 850 Adventure. Absolutely loved it. The price was almost $19,000 US. No thanks.
  12. I think he just made a mistake. They are all chain drive. Even the older 800.
  13. What size Shinko is on the rear? Can't find OEM size on the web.
  14. @BBB. Nothing. I have tried several browsers across several devices. I don't have access I guess.
  15. So are new members not allowed to make galleries? I can't find any menus or buttons allowing me to make an album or upload pics in the gallery page.
  16. Installed a Blaster-X tail light assembly last weekend. What a difference and worth every penny. Very bright and lit all the way across verses the two little triangles being lit. The braking strobe effect really gets your attention. I didn't hook up the integrated signal lights because I actually like the Yamaha pumpkin lights. I bought the optional control switch but so far have only used default mode. Took about 10 minutes to install just because of the switch. The light was less than a minute to install including removing the old one. I'd post a pic but there are great videos like this one.
  17. Thanks man. I'm going to try it. I figure a 16th of an inch should do it after going through forum posts.
  18. I know this is a little late, but did adjusting the APS a little at a time on your 17 work? I had my ECU flashed but there is still an abrupt throttle on in all modes.

My favorite photo spot. Trying to figure out how to make a gallery so I can post these.

  20. Just found this post. Shouldn't have read it at work. Got to let my eyes dry out for a minute.
