Just picked up a 2020 Tracer from the dealer after downsizing from an  FJR. I loved the FJR, but I am very happy with the decision.

I found the items in the picture below in one of the sided cases and I have no clue what they are.  The square ones don't photograph well, but they are die cut clear labels similar in shape to the larger ones.

I've heard they are actually for the FJR.

I know this has been discussed before but  Im new here...  Have most of you that have bought new tracers had the dealer synch the throttle bodies at the first oil change (which Id rather do myself) or is it not necessary?. One older thread I read said this is only in US/Canada and not Europe.

Yes do it if you have the tools

Wait - so you're required to scrap the vehicle after 10 years? Not just resell??? I can't even imagine that passing here in the USA. There are so many cars on the road that are well over 10 years old...and the fact that you're required to scrap them after 10 years would be fought by so many automotive collectors (comedians and very avid car collectors Jay Leno and Jerry Seinfeld would not take that very well at all since their car collections are in the 100+ range).

Yes. After 10 years you will have a couple of options.

1.Which is to scrap is as mentioned

    or

    2. Renew the COE for another 10 years. (so its a never ending cycle of 10 years renewal) therefore the vehicle is never truly yours per se

    or

    3. Renew the COE for 5 years (you will have to scrap it after the end of the 15th year. No more extension will be allowed)

Our vehicles are generally very well sought after in the import/export market as the condition at the end of the 10th year is usually still pretty immaculate.

Yea its sad that we have the most expensive motorcycles/cars and yet its only valid for 10 years so to speak. :(

I figured Singapore would probably be as high as mainland China pricing. Question - what do you mean it's only valid for 10 years?

Oh. We have something called the COE (Certificate of entitlement), which is only valid for 10 years. It is to curb the vehicle ownership in our small city. So at the end of a 10th year, we will need to scrap the vehicle.

    Understanding COE

All vehicles in Singapore require a COE. To register a vehicle, you must first place a bid for a Certificate of Entitlement (COE) in the corresponding vehicle category. A successful COE bid gives you the right to own a vehicle that can be used on the road for 10 years.

  5. I'm about 85kgs and have changed the front springs to 0.95 springs and they feel so much better after a tuneup. (i felt jittering on the front previously at high speeds on the stock springs. Nv give me any confidence at all).

Just springs upgrades should suffice as the front forks are fully adjustable (which is basically a front cart.)

If you are getting the ohlins rear. Please get it with a correct weighted spring. Ohlins does not ask for any rider weight (at least in my country) and the correct spring costs an extra $3-$400.

Hope this helps with your decision. :)

I know from the past that the nuts securing the mirror stems into the 'bar-mounted clamp are NOT the same.   One is 'reverse thread', but not sure which one.   As I recall, one nut tightens as a normal nut when turning the spanner clockwise: the other stem-nut is reverse and loosens when turned counter-clockwise.   I hope I've got that right - but which is which? - please help!

the right side mirrors are the reverse ones

Chromeburner won't take the seat back since I rode 150 miles on in. I just doesn't fit me and my misfortune is your good fortune. Essentially a brand new seat. I will sell it for $200 and I will pay shipping. I will post in the ads section once I make it to 25 posts.

Have you tried to mount it on a low seat setting? I get lesser sloping with the seat mounted on the low.

It gives a overall better control of the bike as well when its mounted in the low position. Maybe due to the lower CG.

    Worth a shot?

  8. thanks guys!

Yup. Just adjust the rod. I didn’t feel like trying to disconnect the wires so I could rotate “the rod” on the LH&RH threads so ended up pulling the shift lever and disconnecting the rod.

Shift lever pivot needed greased anyways. ..
