  1. Can you explain what you had to grind away to mount the super tenere pegs on the fj? Part of the new peg or did you have to modify the bike (other than grinding off the end of the pin to be able to remove the old peg)? Is it the part of the new peg that the pin goes through is to "thick" to fit inside the pin bracket on the bike? OK, what I'm referring to is the part of the peg that surrounds the hole the pin goes through. Had to grind about 5mm off the bottom to get them to fit into the bracket. Not a big deal really. Yes, I drilled out the rivit on the one side to get the stock pegs off, and used the pins that came with the S Ten kit.
  2. Are they a straight bolt on or did you have to grind the mounting bosses to squeeze them in? They look just like the S Tens.
  3. Got them mounted and I am quite happy with them. What I especially like is the construction of the rubber insert. They are hollow and open on both ends to provide drainage, and reduce vibes, very clever. One of our European posters said he used the Yamaha Street Rally pegs, along with a part number. I wonder if he had to grind the mounting bosses to get them to fit, or was it a straight bolt up. Price looks about the same as the US S Ten kit.
  4. The parts list is what I copied off of my invoice. Peg angle should work fine, but as soon as I get them on I will post a reply. Clint already has his mounted and has been riding them a while, maybe he could chime in here.
  5. Check out this page, and a ways down Clint talks about the FZ6 and the S-ten pegs. Am taking my FZ6 pegs off right now and replacing with the S-tens. http://fj-09.org/thread/1361/footpegs?page=2
  6. I emailed Don, and he responded saying they had an FJ on hand and fitted the Vibranators to it. I asked for a part number and a price but haven't heard back from him. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and presume he's trying to update his catalog. He did allow that they would not work with the stock handgards. I wonder if anyone has tried a Bar Snake? I have the SW Motech crash bars, and intend to supplement them with Woodcraft Case Protectors. Seems like cheap insurance for holing a case. Couldn't agree more on the Corbin, corrects 1 of the two major annoyances of the FJ....the other being the windshield, amply corrected by Madstad 22" screen. Rant over, Kirk out.....

  8. Do you get any buzz or vibration through these? Aren't the pins on the FZ and the FJ the same? What dimension on the pins did you have to change?
  9. I've been a Nolan fan for years, and my current helmet is an N-104 EVO with their N-Comm N-5 bluetooth comm system. I love it! It is quiet, comfortable, and the bluetooth hookup to my Cowon S9 mp3 player is excellent. The only thing lacking is authoritative bass....but thats just the audiophile side of me talking. The whole package is a big +1.
  10. If you have the stock hand guards, there are no bar end weights. i have the KTM hand guards, with no bar end weights, and there is no noticeable difference.
  11. I'm sorry, but does it LOOK like I'm trolling around? B-| I'm specifically looking for factory, seems like nobody around here (here being a relative term for Southern California, in the extremely off chance there was any confusion) has been able to get them. Here's an alternative while you wait on Yamaha... http://www.aerostich.com/a-to-b-utilities/rider-comfort/grips-accessories/aerostich-warm-wrap-grips.html
  12. It's where the hose for the remote reservoir hooks to the top of the shock. It's a 90 degree elbow. Check Traxxiondynamics.com for a look at all of the Penske shocks. They would also be able to answer your question about the spring. Edit: the correct URL is Traxxion.com .
  13. The ProAligner is a good piece of gear. Have had one for years.
  14. I like the idea of plugs that don't require replacement every 15000 miles or so. Had Iridiums on my V Strom and was very happy with them. I couldn't find much on Iridiums for the FJ, so I sent and e-mail to NGK and this is their response: Hello, Thank you for your E-mail. The closest we offer to a Laser Iridium is a CR9EIA-9 stock no. 6289. This is a iridium plug with a nickel ground electrode. It comes out of the box gapped for your application at 0.036". You should be able to buy them at any major auto parts stores. If they sell NGK tell the worker the stock no. Best Regards, Michael Durocher NGK Spark Plugs (USA) Inc. 15. You might try http://alaskaleather.com/collections/sheepskin-buttpads . Had one on my V Strom, they are cool and comfortable. Not so good if left out in the rain though.

Adjustability as the seasons change, no add-ons needed, and it looks great....subjective opinion of course on the looks. Completely objective opinion on the functionality, it just works the way you want it to. Will post pics soon. ~ peporter, Sep 8, 2015 at 4:18pm O OK, got some pics, and will try to post here. This is the Madstad system. Don't know what I have to do to make them larger, GOOD help would be appreciated. Love the Madstad! Mirror wideners from KoubaLink are nice, and Twisted Throttle has the SW-Motech items which I have and work well. Got a Corbin saddle, love it and it looks great!

  18. A twisted Throttle item http://www.twistedthrottle.com/denali-soundbomb-split-dual-tone-air-horn the Denali Soundbomb Split Dual Tone Air Horn. I think I detailed the installation previously. I think if you click on my user name it will take you over to my address here on the forum, and from there you can click on "threads" or "posts" to look it up if you are interested. It will definitely wake the cage zombies.
  19. I have the SW Motech crash bars, and love them. You can prop your feet on them if you wish, hang foot pegs off them if you want to, and hang lights off of them like I did. Others say they are expensive, I say they are cheap insurance.....and they look great. Got the lights from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HA14OK4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00 and the mounting brackets also http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TXS0SS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00 . The switch is from Amazon also http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004TXS0SS?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00 .Have fun!
  20. I've always liked Madstad windshields and have had them on a couple of past bikes, but I worried that the FJ's handguards might hit it at full lock. Do they? Yes, they do at full lock. Ergo the KTM handguards which look great and work a treat! http://www.ktmtwins.com/ktm-original-factory-handguards Love my Corbin-Madstad-KTM mods!
  21. What tires are you going to, and have you ridden them before?
  22. Stock hand guards hit the screen in full lock situations. I followed Doctore777s' lead and ordered KTM hand guards. http://www.ktmtwins.com/ktm-original-factory-handguards They work a treat, and don't hit anything any time. I look over the screen.
