  1. Does the trailer have a chock built in, or just a ramp? What year is it?
  2. I use ProGrip 714s' on my Renthal bars, along with https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/pro-grip-714-dual-sport-grips a G2 Throttle Tamer https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/g2-throttle-tamer-yamaha Works a treat, and I have large hands also.
  3. You still have your FJ?I'm in Edmond, red '15 FJ-09. Almost got it farkled out to my satisfaction....if that's possible...
  4. This is how I mounted mine: http://fj-09.org/thread/1829/nitron-rear-suspension-upgrade?page=2 The pics are a little way down the page. I went to Ace Hardware and got a length of 1" flat steel, laid the passenger mount frame on it, marked the holes and drilled them. Took my angle grinder and cut a slight notch from the bottom, put it in a vice and bent in downward. Slapped some paint on it, used the two rubber bumpers Traxxion sent with the shock and zip tied it on. It hasn't moved, and I ride plenty.
  5. As other have hinted on here, there's nothing on the NGK site that would indicate that plug type has an effect on how hot the engine will run, rather that one has to select the right plug for the right temperature application. They also list some factors that WILL affect the engine run temperature (and thus affect the performance of the plug), and of course timing is one of them. Assuming that the plug itself cannot make the engine run hotter... was the plug swap the only task performed on this bike? No valve/timing work, ECU flash or otherwise? If not, could it be a bad plug and/or bad electrical connection, gaps not set right? http://fj-09.org/search/results?captcha_id=captcha_search&display_as=0&page=2&search=Search&what_at_least_one=NGK%2BIridium%2Bplugs&who_only_made_by=0 About half way down the page is NGKs' response to me on the issue.
  6. When the time comes to replace my sprockets and chain, I'm going to a 520 16-45 setup, with a 110 link chain. Should loose a few pounds also. And, to the naysayers, I did this conversion on my DL1000 V Strom, and it worked a treat. No adverse wear issues at all, and a noticeable acceleration improvement. https://www.drivesystemsusa.com/superlite-rs-series-sprockets/yamaha/street/fz-09-14-15/
  7. Sorry, I got the 20" clear screenAnd you can take the hand guards touching out of the equation by putting the KTM hand guards on....and get better protection as a bonus.
  8. You might try Star Tron also. Good stuff! https://www.amazon.com/Star-Tron-Enzyme-Fuel-Treatment/dp/B00D3IEIFO/ref=pd_sim_200_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00D3IEIFO&pd_rd_r=7MDZHR4ZH96DMYX4YWWG&pd_rd_w=TlkZc&pd_rd_wg=pV4n3&psc=1&refRID=7MDZHR4ZH96DMYX4YWWG
  9. Airflow is quite good across my torso, gentle movement, practically no wind noise, don't have a problem hearing the engine. I also run bluetooth music to my helmet, and have no problem hearing it even with the chinbar up. The 22" is a good all round fit for me. Addons are not needed.....look kind of dorky IMO. Like I said before, I have the screen in the full upright position. When you tilt it back is when I start having problems. Madstad will work with you.
  10. I ordered the 20" Clear Screen, but I'm only 5ft 8.5inI should also mention that I ride with the screen in the full forward position. The new brackets are scalloped so the screen holds in position much better than the old style. I posted some pics a while back of my install, hope it helps. http://fj-09.org/thread/2137/madstad-windscreen-experience
  11. I think you may have uncovered a problem with their new design. I was talking to Blair about what screen would be best for me, (new or old design), and he was touting the new one as much better. I asked him to look at your post on the forum and let me know what the issue was before I would order. He came back and said I should order the old version. He didn't say I couldn't order the new design, but I got the impression he felt he needed to address some issues. I'm guessing you found some things he hadn't seen before. I ordered the old version, and it should arrive this week. I rode my friend's FJ-09 and it had the same Madstad screen I ordered. I liked it a lot, and am anxious to get it installed on my bike and spend more time with it. What size did you order? I'm 6'4" w2ith a 32" inseam and I ordered the 22" screen, a year ago. My helmet is a Nolan N-104 EVO, and I ride with the chinbar up most of the time. I get a little air movement at the top of the helmet, and a little air around the sides to keep me comfortable in the 90-100+ temps we have here in Oklahoma. I also have a Corbin saddle which sits a bit taller than the stock saddle in low position. Did a 2000 mile trip the end of July out across west Texas to Montrose, CO, and the Madstad was perfect. I am a huge fan!
  12. I changed the bars out for Renthal Street Naked Fatbars, and added Vibranators in front of the KTM Adventures. No more vibration, and excellent wind/weather protection. Hand guards are light years better than the stock pieces. Did all of this the night before a 2000 mile trip and fortunately it all worked great.
  13. ...just to clarify, is that the Product Code: 819-01 on the Renthal site? happy to know that the wrists don't get hammered, but how has your riding posture improved overall? That is a very nice bar, and looks great on your bike. 819-01 is the Fat Bar Street Naked. I have them, installed the night before a 2000 mile trip. Yeah, I roll the dice, but this time it wasn't much of a gamble, they are great. I also added Vibranators and Pro Grip 714 BK grips, and POOF....vibration gone. I put KTM hand guards on, everything fits beautifully and looks good.
  14. I think you are correct, putting the bar end weight between the guard and the bar would result in interference with the brake reservoir. The inner bar mount on mine is about 1/2 inch from the front of the reservoir. You might consider Vibranators if you are looking for bar ends with vibration control. Don't have them on mine, but others on the forum like them.
  15. Indeed. Perfect replacement and quiet....sssshhhh. http://yamahazone.biz/tensioners.html Clint, what did you do to address the blocking off of the oil supply issue?
  16. I have decided to raise the boredom bar with a list and some pics of my farkles. First out the gate is extending the sidestand 1 3/4-2". Allows me to stand on the S-10 pegs and swing my leg over....not as flexible as I used to be... SW Motech Quick Lock Evo Engage tank bag, Corbin Saddle, Ventura Mistral 1 bag, SW Motech Blaze Saddle bags, R&G Rear Hugger, E-Bay spindlles Ventura Astro Top Box, holds my Nolan N-104 Evo easily The comes the 22" Dark Madstad, Mini Trail Lights (Amazon), PIAA 7400 modified light brackets, Trail Tech Light switch (Amazon) SW Motech Crash Bars, USL-258 Long Adjustable Levers, Progrip 714 BK grips, KTM Hand guards, MC Cruise Control, R&G Radiator Protector...and there is more....but not tonight.
  17. Yep, just a little way down the page. Easy peasy.... http://fj-09.org/thread/323/stebel-nautilus-air-horn%C2%A0
  18. You might visit Ventura Luggage. http://www.ventura-mca.com/ I have the 32 liter Astro Top Box that accepts my Nolan N-104e helmet just fine. I also have the Mistral 1 47 liter bike pack, which, in combination with the SW Motech Blaze Saddle Bags give me 91 liters of storage in a very light weight package. That should give me enough storage for at least a month long trip. That assume no camping of course. Oh, and to your original question, both the top box and Mistral bike pack are turned to occupy the pax area. Keeps the cg closer to between the axles.
  19. I'm assuming you got the 110 tank ring? You are set up for the SW Motech Quick Lock EVO Engage Tank Bag if you wanted a little more room, and a nice look also IMO. Here's my review. http://fj-09.org/thread/795/motech-connection-electric-quick-engage
  20. What about adding a little to the height and tilting it back a bit? Do you think that might add enough deflection to it to help?
  21. Yeah, all over their cell phones (mobiles for those on the other side of the pond) 8-) . Sorry I pointed you at an Australian posting on ebay, but a search for the name pulls up a lot of them on there. The 30 amp requirement kind of concerns me though, I guess that means new wiring throughout, not using the aux circuit under the windshield, huh. Just get the relay wiring kit for it and be done. Put a few of them on bikes I've owned, never gave them a second thought. The Denali air horn from Twisted Throttle with the remote compressor located under the seat works great also. I have mine mounted there. Takes a little spare tubing to reach the horn, but no problem really. http://fj-09.org/thread/323/stebel-nautilus-air-horn?page=2
  22. Yep, removed mine just to make it a clean install. I have a Madstad 22" screen set on the low position, and have no clearance issues from the guards.
  23. If you do it.....you can make I Phones fly.....
