  1. Glowered at one of the contractors at the house and the impending thunderstorms, left the garage and ordered a "water resistant" GPS carrier/mount, T Rex front and rear axle sliders and SATO engine sliders. Going out tomorrow for a ride. Then locking my credit card away...
  2. The Revolver is pretty quiet behind my new windscreen.
  3. ULEWZ, It does look a little wonky, but the comfort is undeniable. Sorry about the duplicate post - my fingers stutter.
  4. Got the Cal Sci Large + 7.5" and it works great for me at 6'3" tall in the lowest position. Tried it at freeway speed with the bags on. Bike's stable, much less buffeting/noise.
  5. Bell Revolver in Matte Black. Face flips up and has drop down visor that doesn't mess with my glasses. Snell and DOT certified at a good price. Also mounts the Transitions Shield.
  6. TCX X Wrap Waterproof - they look like sneakers and I can wear them in the office and not too many people notice. But this forum is deadly to my wallet - those SIDI Goretex Canyons look like what I want for a long ride in the twisties...
  7. Yeah people, answer the poll! Do you have fast grey or slow red? I also went with the Matte Grey - Red attracts cops! Haven't had a ticket on a bike since the 1970's! All have been dark colors. My red truck - not so lucky.
  8. Huh? Yeah, got it the second time around.
  9. I think Wessie recommended replacement with allen head bolts with nyloc nuts...
  10. deerSlayer, They put a headlight, license and tail lights on it to get plates on it. I really wanted to take it out on a track. My CalSci windshield will get here next Monday. If it wasn't raining democrats and republicans here, I'd be out on a ride! Because I'm tallish, 75", the stock windshield sends all matter of gunk right onto my faceshield.
  11. deerSlayer: Nope. I was certain it was from the race bike! It was the two stroke. Bettencourt's Honda in West Bridgewater (MA) had one. We used to have a small specialty shop nearby in Bridgewater and did a Suzuki 2 stroke triple and a 350 Jawa 2 stroke to race specs - 180 intake, 200 exhaust and 135 transfer in the late 70's. Lots of work with a die grinder. Had to replace the chain and sprockets with a larger set as the 350 broke 108 links of the stock chain in a 1/4 mile run. It was fed with a 40mm Mikuni on a split intake using a reed valve. Bettencourt Machine Corp also ran a 3 cylinder Laverda 1000 to 3rd place at Daytona. Back then you could put plates on just about anything. A TZ 250 and HD 750 side valve come to mind.
  12. Yes. It came with a Honda NS400R. That question is over 2 months old (Jan 20 post!) I may cut down the CalSci shorty/low even lower, not sure yet. I feel validated as a biker - I told my wife it was for a Honda 400! Great little bikes. Lot's of people turned them into cafe racers...
  13. Deerslayer, is the rare accessory the rear wheel stand? :-S Ordered a CalSci "L" a coupla days ago.
  14. Tried drilling once on an older windscreen (HondaLine fairing) and it started to develop cracks between holes. An inverted Lazy W pattern instead of a series of straight lines ought to fix this. Drill, then countersink to relieve stress and it should work. After the mod, which was about an inch over the fairing, centered, and shaped like a 7"x3" rectangle with a series of 1/8" holes, I could smoke a cigarette while riding behind the screen. It got cracks in between the centermost drill holes. Wind load at the top of the screen from sustained high speed riding probably contributed to the plexiglas fatiguing.
  15. "Just stumbled upon this site and wanted to pass it along... www.calsci.com/motorcycleinfo/FJ-09prod.html" This is a great site. Ordered a large clear one a few days ago. 8-) The stock windscreen was just not getting it as evidenced by all the bugs on my face shield.
