  1. That makes sense and is something I hadn’t considered. Shows you what kind of engineer I’d make…
  2. I think something right in the middle of the bars is what I'd be looking for. Looks like there are several solutions out there.
  3. Did not know that. Still surprised you can't change on the fly though.
  4. I'm still new to the bike (haven't even hit the 600 mile oil change yet) but after playing around with it a bit, I prefer Standard over A. One thing I can't figure out: why on earth would they not allow you to change modes down (A -> Standard -> B) while moving? What if you hit some weather and want to go into "rain" mode?
  5. Added my first farkles: Chinesium FJ1300 pegs Grip puppies Pazzo shorty levers OEM touring windscreen Went for a test ride tonight. The touring screen is coming off and the stock going back on. Ordering a Puig racing/shorty to see if that's any better. Now if my mirror extenders would get here...
  6. Well, test #1 is complete. Since I had such great luck with the OEM touring screen on my old FZ1, I ordered the OEM touring screen for the Tracer. That was not money well spent. In town, I think it actually increased wind noise. At highway speeds (55-65mph) it gave me some helmet buffeting. (My definition of buffeting: feeling like my head is in a B-17 bomber.) The weird thing is, at interstate speeds (80mph) it worked really well. Unfortunately, I try to stay off the interstate and stick to secondary highways. I'm also wondering if the mounting system is up to the task of supporting a big screen. Seems pretty chintzy. So, now I guess I'll sell the OEM touring screen and figure out what to try next. I'm actually leaning towards the Puig shorty racing screen.
  7. Or just GPS mounting in general. Anyone mount a Garmin XT to their Tracer? Looking for install ideas on what the best way is. Coming from a 2014 Street Glide Special with built-in navigation, I'm really missing having an e-map when I want.
  8. Me too, which is why I’m leaning away from the CalSci medium.
  9. There are so many threads, and so many choices, I’m nowhere closer to picking a windscreen than I was when I first started researching the 900 GT. I need some help from the internet. I used to have a gen2 FZ1 that I added an OEM touring screen to. It was great. My 900 GT, the stock screen is better in the lower position as far as wind noise, but the upper position isn’t quite good enough in the rain. I’m 5’ 10” - 5’ 11” (177.8 - 180.3 cm) tall with a 33” - 34” (83.8 - 86.3 cm) inseam. I always wear earplugs and a Shoei RF1200 full face. My previous good luck with OEM is making me seriously consider OEM again, but I’ve read a lot of dissatisfaction. A shorty looks great but I’d like something a little better at keeping rain off my visor/helmet. I like the idea of the vent on the CalSci and found that a vent made a big difference when open on a 2014 Street Glide, but egad are they ugly! As far as Madstad goes, I’m just not willing to spend that much. Let’s see how the poll turns out…
  10. Yeah, I'm really leery about mounting my phone to the bike. Much prefer it in my jacket pocket where it's more protected. Sure, I can beam navigation instructions to my Cardo, but I REALLY like having an always-visible map.
  11. Interesting. I like the visibility above the instrument cluster.
  12. Oh yeah, and I NEED navigation. Trying to figure out if I would be better off mounting a GPS like a Garmin unit, or utilizing a phone mount with my phone.
  13. New owner from South Dakota here. Was on vacation on the west side of the state when I popped into a dealer in Rapid City to see what they had. Turns out they had a 2020 Tracer 900 GT in stock and actually let me take it for a test ride. Liked it and have been missing my FZ1 that I had years ago so I decided to get it. Today I rode it home to the east side of the state. 360+ miles, all in A (Attack? Aggressive?) mode. My impressions: Seat: The stock seat was more comfortable than I thought it would be from reading here. Although, it could be more comfy. I think I’ll probably send it off to Terry’s Custom Seats after the riding season is over. Going to get a BeadRider in the meantime Windscreen: Not terrible, but not great either. Definitely needs work. Going to try one of those adjustable lip spoiler thingies before buying a whole new shield. Really wish there was a consensus on what the best one was. I’m leaning toward CalSci due to it being vented. I found the vent on my Street Glide to make a pretty big difference. Although, the factory Yamaha touring screen on my old FZ1 was perfect. Maybe the Yamaha touring screen for the Tracer 900 GT would be perfect too… Footpegs: I didn’t think they were so bad but I ordered rubber padded ones for the FJR1300. Stock ones are a little too skinny. Grips: Lots of buzziness here. Grip Puppies are on the way. We’ll see how they do. All in all I’m pretty happy and pretty impressed. I did the Harley thing for a while but I’m just not a Harley guy. Been missing my old FZ1 so I think this is definitely going to be more my style.
