rrm512
My battery has died. While looking for a replacement all the batteries have the + - terminals opposite of mine. I have a Yuasa YTZ10S all the websites show that battery with the + on the left while looking at it from the terminal side of the battery. What am I not getting right? I have a picture but don't see how to post it. Rick
xlxr
Maybe the pictures are not actual battery
carey
The last letter or letters of a Yuasa battery designate the + terminal position. If the letter is S, the + terminal is on the left and BS has the + terminal on the right. My FJ 09 battery has the + terminal on the left.
rrm512
Possible but the specs list the terminal position and the pictures show the model#.
carey
A Yuasa YTZ10S will have the + terminal on the left. Just like this; https://www.batterystuff.com/powersports-batteries/YTZ10S.html Scroll down to the specs and it shows where the + terminal is located. This is the battery you want. rrm512
I guess I'm of an age that a battery is always "up". It never crossed my mind that it would be any other way. Thanks for everyone's help. Rick
xlxr
Glass mat or lithium batteries can be layed on side without problems. Liquid electrolyte batteries must be mounted top up. Check battery manufacturer info to be sure.

Rick you are not the first on this forum to discover this...many bikes have batteries installed this way, especially those under a side pod as it makes the terminals more accessible. This signature is left blank as the poster writes enough pretentious bollocks as it is.
Premium Member joeszup Posted January 23, 2017 Premium Member Share Posted January 23, 2017 LOL, I had the same problem when I had my first dead battery. I was looking at all the pictures on the internet like WTF? Didn't realize the battery was on it's side and could be connected to either way.
