bugie
So I just installed the Catalytic converter in my Akrarovic and noticed that it was generating a lot of white smoke from the mid-pipe joint. I know that white smoke is normal in new exhausts but is it normal to be coming from the mid-pipe joint? I have used copper paste to prevent the pipes seizing so am not sure if the smoke is just the copper paste burning off, or indicative of a bad seal between the pipes. The springs and all bolts are secured in place. Edited May 4, 2019 by bugie
Supporting Member betoney Posted May 4, 2019 Supporting Member Share Posted May 4, 2019 Is the white smoke coming out of the joint under pressure - exhaust leak, or is it merely burning off the pipe? ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***
BBB
Copper paste will have a carrying medium, like a grease, so that is simply burning off. Red 2015 Tracer, UK spec (well, it was until I started messing with it...)
bugie
@betoneyLooks like it is coming from the joint but doesnt seem to fluctuate it with throttle blips making me believe it was just something burning @BBBthanks that was my assumption too
