charlie
Help I've broke my Tracer GT. I have a Tracer 900 GT 2018 now about 2 years old and 10k miles, mostly trouble free but just recently since around August 2019 I've had various electrical issues that have culminated in the bike being stripped completely and both the Dealer and Yamaha UK scratching their heads. The first issue I had was the bike cut out and warning lights came on on the dash whilst riding on a very bumpy tarmaced B road, I went to coast to a standstill and the bike re started and ran fine no codes or other warning lights stayed on. The bike went in for a Service a few weeks later and no issues were found or codes stored, it was as if it didn't happen. A few weeks later on the same road all the dash lights came on so I pulled over as fast as possible but as I slowed down the lights went off, I double checked the oil level and carried on, again no lights stayed on and bike ran fine afterwards. Bike put away for winter and no real issues, then Quickshifter stopped working, then horn stopped working ( cheap sir horn from Ebay,) replaced back to standard and that seems ok. Then in May first real use this year I noticed that the brake light was stuck on, replaced both switches and still on. Took to Dealer to investigate, 8 hours later no further forward, other than the Tech saying he had managed to get the brake light off by moving the wiring but now can't get it to work, and that out of the 4 wires going to the dash only 1 is meant to have continuity but all 4 do. My personal belief is that there is a break somewhere in the loom which the Dealer wants to repair. Whilst replacing the front brake light switch I found the Loom had absolutely no give in it at all and seemed very tight and stretched so think that it was too taut when fitted and whilst they may fix one wire I feel there may be further issues down the line. Anyone else had anything similar ?
BBB
I don’t recall reading of anything similar @charlie, sorry to be of no further help with your first post. At least it is with the dealer and you weren’t stranded. Red 2015 Tracer, UK spec (well, it was until I started messing with it...)

They couldn't find the issue and just returned it back to you not working? Is it still under warranty? ***2015 Candy Red FJ-09***
duhs10
No other electrical issues of this magnitude have been reported on the forum that I am aware of... @charliewhen you mention "loom" I'm assuming you are referring to the wiring harness (as I know it)? Did that correct the issue? '15 FJ-09 w/ lots of extras... Fayetteville, GA, USA
