South Island New Zealand - and a few places rent Tracers

Now THAT is good to know.  My dad has been wanting to return to NZ (he visits Aus for ~3 months nearly every year), but knowing Tracers are available sure sweetens the deal for a possible family trip...

Here's a North Island rental company with tracers: Auckland Motor Bike hire

And here's a South Island rental company with tracers: City Motorcycle Rentals

Not that I know anything about either of these companies, so due diligence is still in order. But they are out there!

I stumbled across this post while exploring getting a tracer 9 GT when they arrive (another month or so for NZ). Our biggest city has less than 1.7 million, and the next biggest city has 26% of that population so yeah - really small.

We usually see as many tourists as the entire population each year, but of course COVID has put a hold on that. However @ZigMerid, that means now (while the bubble is only open to Australians) is the time to come over. Especially outside NZ school holidays, our beautiful scenic alpine routes are empty and an absolute blast to ride. The usual line of campervans/RVs crawling up and down mountain passes is not an issue!

@Brian, to put in perspective for a Texan how small and under the radar we are, one of my mates from my Surf lifesaving patrol is an NZ motorbike cop. He accompanied the royal tour a couple of years ago. When the accompanying Royal protection squad were told that he had only ever fired a weapon in basic training 10 years ago, and never carried or held a gun since then,  they decided his best use in an attack would be to throw them clips of ammunition when they called for it!
