I just went all in and got the GT.

Sure you can save money up front and add back some of the missing bits like a better suspension, cruise control, quick shifter,  bags and so forth.

I like getting all that stuff in stock form and some things like electronic cruise control and a color dash probably can never be added back.

Cruise can be added but it's not cheap... that new color dash is pretty

They actually packaged the relay with the taillight, when I purchased it.  The front turn signals that I got also have relays with them.

You only need 1 relay for all the signals... it replaces the OEM relay under the driver seat.

Are you sure you aren't referring to resistors that they sent you? You can hook up resistors for all the lights but the relay is much easier and cleaner IMO.  It also removes the need for the resistors.

I bought the MotoDynamics integrated tail light.  I has the strobe so I am hoping to be more visible with it.  All the lights and levers will go on this weekend.

I have that tail light on my '15... been several years now with no issues and it is WAY brighter than stock.

Also if you are going with LED flush mounts, I highly recommend using a flasher relay as opposed to finding a place for the resistors. I have the TST Industries flasher relay. Direct plug and play.

Last night I took the FJ apart and returned it to stock trim.  Today I took it to the shop and got an upgraded exhaust, ecu and suspension.

So the FJ-09 went into the shop, and this is what came back out...

The past few years have been awesome and this has been the best motorcycle owners forum I've been a part of.  Thank you all and thank you mods 😃

So after chasing the 2015 FJ-09 for years, trying to turn it into something it's not with rear-sets, bar lowering, etc...  The wife gave me a birthday present in the form of permission to put what I had been saving for suspension and exhaust + trade-in for a 2015 S1000RR with only 1200 miles.  I now have cruise control!

Oh, and contrary to popular belief...  The signals on BMW vehicles DO work and function!

    ***Shhhhh....  I'll still be lurking...

Wow... that's a bit of a change. Nice bike!

Now however after the flash it does some pretty loud backfiring. Is this normal or is the flash not quite right? Is there something I can do to stop it from backfiring?

Did you choose to disable the AIS system? Might need some blocking plates.

If it's truly backfiring that usually indicates there is a decent amount of unburnt fuel getting into the exhaust. So may be running too rich.

I have the matched pair of Sargent seats, and the few times I've carried a passenger there hasn't been any complaint about the seat comfort.  I see on the Sargent website that the order options are for either the rider's seat only, or the rider & passenger pair...  odd.

It's probably worth a quick call to see if they will sell you just a passenger section:  1-800-749-7328

I'm sure they will sell you a passenger seat if you call them.

Maybe it's time for an for an FJR ES

Probably uses the same master cylinder.... hahaha. (I have no idea.... just being funny)

Edit.... I believe they are the same except for the resevoir. The sub assembly has different part numbers (assuming due to the different resevoir) but if you look piece by piece the part numbers are all the same.

Valid point Skip.  But I did post this in the GT section.  Maybe I should have put "GT display" as the title.

    Cheers......John

We will still take a look to see if we can help whether or not it's in the GT section...

Those new displays sure do look nice.
