  1. What do you think of the K5? I saw it was on sale at revzilla and I'm in need of a new helmet. Do you find it quiet? I brought it just for track days only because it brand new and " unabused" new compared to the one I use daily so the techs cant give me shyt ... as for sound, sadly your asking the wrong person, I'm barely cracking 5% on a hearing test, I need to study more ?...my only gripe is it super light weight because I prefer a heavy helmet to help combat the micro wind buffeting/chatter nothing wrong with it just a personal preference...really nice fit, comfy, comes with 3 diffrent visor locks, field of vision is pretty good and it's even got little cut outs in the upper jaw pads for glasses...

I use both brakes pretty much equally but im completely comfortable if either tire breaks loose thanks to many years of dirt biking...i do not want my connection with the bikes behavior under wheel sliding conditions to be tainted by ABS doing its thing...and im actually scared of ABS going off and freaking me out causing a wipeout/accident i never wanted...

I take no offense guys/gals and thanks for the encouragement...stranger things have happened...on paper with my estimates it sounds good but at least im gonna try to get it as close as i can...yes i agree some chassis mods like swing extensions will help, suspension work and possible engine mods will make the 9sec goal more easily obtainable but its not a weekend bracket racing bike, thats a whole different ball game...
  8. Its still 9 secs even if its 9.999 secs ...but yes like I said i will beat my calculations, gotta have goals...will it be a low 9 sec bike, probably not but I do have a secret weapon tucked away in my ECU ?

Ordered a drag racing kill switch...The track I drag race at says if you break the sound barrier @ 10 secs on a motorcycle in the 1/4 mile you will need to have a laynard style kill switch and register the bike for a card and numbers ? Edit: 120whp + 450# bike + 180# suited up rider = 9.90secs @ 135mph in the 1/4 mile...I will beat my calculator!!! http://www.mpsracing.com/products/MPS/hc01.asp
  10. I had no idea such a thing existed. I been following them for a few years now, phenomenal stuff... a handful of teams in Australia are drag racing turbo -09...on paper a turbo -09 will beat a turbo -10 in a drag race unless the -10 losses about 50# ... and my desire to build a turbo -09 is only getting stronger...
  11. Did you see the FZ10 turbo?wow!Yea... almost same kit as the -09 motor but diffrent airbox and charge pipe... same HP numbers tho ? ...okay 195hp vs 200hp... but still ?

  13. Was finally able to take my bike out for an actual spin... I cannot believe how much more smoother the power got compared to stock, i thought the motor was snappy like a built 2 stroke ?...its power way smoother than KY gel...compared to my FZ-07 you feel the power at all times due to the nature of the -07 motors, a 4 banger like a crotch rocket is smooth then in the upper rpms it hits...with this little 3 cylinder, i really cannot feel the power push me around, i cannot even tell a diffrence yet if the bike is in ECO mode or not since i have no more closed loop fueling due to Woolich Race Kit...i tried to get a sound clip of the ride but my jacket pocket was a bad location till the wind noises overpowered the microphone...will try other locations...im only doing sound clips, no need for a video with potential incriminating evidence ?... Sadly i cannot really comment on sound, i need my buddy for that but with limited hearing it sounds so heavenly with a side of racing DNA and makes you giggle when you snap the throttle Graves w/Woolich Race Kit should be a factory option!!!!

Finally got the ECU back...Them Graves Pipes belt out a heavenly chorus that can rival the Mythical Sirens Call of greek mythology...Woolich Race Kit( up/down quick shift and Launch Control) and Graves Exhaust is the way to go... After a quick 15 min trip across this small sleepy town i am gonna have to turn TCS off if i wanna get into my " zone ", the new exhaust and ECU upgrades make it waaaayyy to easy for me to light up the TCS under certain conditions where i dont want TCS to engage...

In the USA we go by rear wheel horsepower unless stated its flywheel horsepower, typically its a 15% difference in flywheel HP and rear wheel horsepower due to transmission...so its like 135ish+ HP at the flywheel if I have 119HP at the rear wheel...and yes the EPA is our horsepower neutering agency and the fact US spec ECU have a 5th and 6th gear speed limiter... Majority of US owners reflash the ECU and it will be 99% identical to EU spec if i recall correctly...
  17. My math tells me its a 16HP increase over bone stock @ 103HP... So its 15.5% increase in power... Bout $100 per 1% increase in power... Exhaust was $1050 Woolich Race Kit was $450 2wdw services was $250

  19. Just broke the news to my bike its ECU is on its ways back from 2wdw...Nels worked his magic and hit 119HP!!!!! Yeaaa 119HP to the rear wheel ? Stock is 103HP to the rear wheel ?
  20. I was able to do it all from the front thru the radiator opening after I got it to drop far enough, i used the Graves plates and the AIS is disabled via SCU ... already had the tank off to pull ECU...
  21. As a teen I watched Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Villopoto, Chad Reed, Kevin Windham, James Stewart, Nick Wey, and a few others who are still racing today 16yrs later!!! I can still recall the time James Stewart was the only one on a 2 stroke in his class just dominating the brand shiny new 4 strokes...That was the end of the 2 stroke era and the start of 4 stroke era...
  22. I just found out this morning the Motocross Of Nations 2018 (MXoN) will be held at none other than RRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEDDDDDDDDDDBBBBBBBBBUUUUUUUUUUUDDDDDD!!! Ya know Redbud ?, last 3yrs I have gone to Redbud during 4th of July weekend to watch the outdoor AMA MX series and the night races ?... now I get the chance to see what is basically the best of the best in motocross duel in my backyard, well a short 2.5hr drive away...

Just kidding...I live just north of Grand Rapids...I spend alot of time riding around Grand Traverse, tunnle of trees, made a nice detour just near end of fall up to Detour Michigan on my little FZ-07... I also got a WR250F I use for the trails, mainly Cedar Creek when it's nice and muddy ? This year I will be doing all road trips on the FJ-09
  24. I signed up for a track day from Fox PowerSports outta Grand Rapids... Foxpowerblog.com/shop/ Im going on June 2nd @ Grattan in the novice class... This will be my first time ever running on a track...I have done a few motos in Motocross over the years for fun and have put many laps in at the US 131 dragstrip on my FZ-07( fastest pass was on a 25°F day running 1/8 mile only @ 7.83 sec from 2nd gear start ?)... I havent decided which bike im using yet, either the FZ-07 or the FJ-09... Currently leaning towards the FZ-07, its a 380# bundle of torque ?
