  1. You can buy longer cables from Motion Pro or use a cable from an R1...I dunno the years but I recall some post with owners using an R1 cable since it's longer than OEM
  2. looks like a lovely day in Michigan to go out and ride...well "snowmobile" that is... ... currently 2°F, was -17°F this morn when I got outta work...
  3. the nut has 2 tabs that get punched onto the shaft to help lock it in place...they can be reused but its your choice... I reused mine but put a dab of blue locktite and re punched the tabs...
  4. If it were clear and dry, I’d be out on the bike right now. But it’s grey and wet today, unfortunately... I ride for fun, and Friday’s forecast looks ‘more funner’ 40 is warm when it's been 0 or -5 last 5 days with lake effect snow/wind Heated gear/grips pays off nicely when it gets 45 and below **Already spent 3hrs yesterday in the ditch waiting for the local plow guy boss to stop by with the skid steer... fun times it was... they feed me good , rode along with em while they (husband and wife team) plowed other places since we had to wait for the skid steer...
  5. I didnt realize the FJ-09 achieved the speed of sound for the beak to pay off...
  6. Given your's state of tune I'm surprised you don't run around rotating the dead cylinder every 10 seconds or so unless you're in <3rd gear, over 4K rpm and past 1/2 throttle. Do you even get 80 miles to a tank? sure do! in fact I get an extra 100 miles before I cave in and hit the nearest gas station... its a gas sipper like a Honda Prius above 5k rpms...
  7. NO BEAK! they "unofficially" detune the FJ-09 by 17.34% and disables the the 2nd spark plug every 456 miles for 20secs to improve MPG beaks are for animals of the AVAIN variety
  8. it seems to be you need a few windscreens to deal with the riding season depending on location... for me early spring to early summer the stock works fine...summer months I dont use any windscreen as I find the ride less noisy...then as fall really hits I use the Givi windscreen as it blocks alot if the cold wind here in Michigan... I find using a tall windscreen like the Givi to actually act as a "speaker" directing sound right at me, I prefer to run with out my exhaust baffle but when I put the Givi windscreen on and forget to put the exhaust baffle in, I gotta stop and turn my hearing aides off as its race bike loud compared to not using the Givi windscreen...
  9. Had a lovely conversation with the bike today, we went window shopping for some suspension(via smartphone)... hmmm may have found the winner but need to think it over and send out a few emails... I need the new rear shock to hold when using LaunchControl...
  10. took the bike in to have the handlebar risers replaced due to recall and had the front sprocket oil seal replaced under warranty... total cost was ZERO DOLLARS ?... in all seriousness the front sprocket oil seal job was approx $65 total with the oil seal at approx $9... the dealership even gave the bike a bath since they loved my exhaust choice ?...
  11. today I finally got to get the motorcycle outta the garage...Its been 1 month since I fractured my knee cap(closed non-displaced latitude fracture of patella) while riding the FZ-07... felt soooo good just to ride again even just for an hr when its only 40°F out ?... yea its pretty freaking crazy only 2wks ago I was walking somewhat again without a brace, even my little brother who works in orthopedics is baffled ?.. now the long term fun starts, rebuilding my knee strength back up which takes years... been there done that years ago on my other knee...

  13. There are several threads going over this procedure. Try Accelerator Position Sensor Adjustment If you need more info search: APS or Accelerator Position Sensor. this only works on pre 2017 bikes as the newer bikes you cannot pull up the extra menus for diagnostic/sensor adjust features via the dash board...
  14. the wire got sliced somehow inside the throttle housing... it just stopped working earlier this week when I went to turn em on... maybe I hit the throttle stop too much !?! ?
  15. broke out the FZ-07 and put a new exhaust on her and parked the FJ for a few days...gotta replace the throttle side heated grip-
  16. went to the dealership to drop my bike off for warranty work... well that was new- they approved the front sprocket oil seal and said my handbar riser recall was void because I used aftermarket handlebars ? huh??? the service guy though I had ProTaper handlebars because all he could remember from 2 wks ago was seeing ProTaper on my handlebars- so we went outside and looked at my ProTaper handlebars, to his embarrassment he found out that my ProTaper handlebars were stock and the ProTaper logo he saw was my grip dounts... next friday the bike goes in and will be done in an hr ?...
  17. loaded the bike up to be dropped off at the dealership in the morning after I get outta work, for some warranty work on the handlebar riser, front sprocket oil seal cover... spent the last 5 days trying to figure out why my little Isuzu p/u wouldn't stay running(mechanical fuel pump was barely pulling fuel, had to install an electric pump)...
  18. Welcome. .. I recognize your screen name from the FZ-07 forum...
  19. The only reason you need blue fork tubes is because you can't get the front end up... I also plan to wrap the fork tubes in CF this winter... I may have hurt Reds (FJ-09) feelings by getting the FZ-07 a new exhaust ?...
  20. yea them stock tires are known for cupping up front- realy annoying in the rain when going left... I got 6500 miles on mine amd they could hold out till end of the year but I do have some warranty work(Handlebar, front sprocket oil seal cover and potentially the CCT) on the bike coming up so Im gonna have em toss on some Pirelli Angel GTs... * CCT has not made any funky motor behavior I know of yet...
  21. Which screen and would love a pic? Thanks! https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-2122dt-windscreen-yamaha-fj-09-2015-2016
  22. I wonder if the vibrations are rattling the cig adaptors apart mainly the cheap ones?
  23. had a rare event happen today, no overtime this weekend ?... anyway I was excited cause the ole girl hasn't gotten a spa day in about 5 months ?... needed 2 baths!! good 5mins of scrubbing and massaging her feet... never gets old seeing that red dress all shiny and looking so fresh ?... sigh so shiny..
  24. I see one that looks like the Graves Exhaust can on the last page... for reference 350mm exhaust can sticks out not much further than the foot brake pedal but still inside the foot peg* slight design variance may come into play depending on the midpipe bend/location... on another note- the Graves Exhaust has hardly any fueling difference rather you run with or without a baffle- thats a well thought out exhaust system...
