  1. +1 for Cycle Terminal. I've used this site to get connectors for old Hondas and to modify/add accessories without hacking the wiring harness.
  2. Hey Folks, I just wanted to give an update on AK Cycles. My son Scott is still busy with service. And they are a legit used bike dealership now! They offer financing, help with insurance and even offer rentals. They've also expanded and now have a show room with gear. Jackets, helmets and gloves are all in stock.
  3. Very nice! I'm not a big fan of matte myself. The matte grey on mine is ok. But your gloss transformation is beautiful! Well done!
  4. OP said only liability insurance and the wife wants the bike gone. At this point I would guess it would be a matter of your mechanical ability, then willingness to do the repair. If you CAN do the work yourself and repair everything, the bike will sell for more than as it is now (obviously). It's definitely not financially worth having dealership or outside mechanic to the work. Taking the hit of selling as is may be difficult. You're limiting yourself to the mechanically inclined purchasers. Just subtracting the cost of parts from the price of an equal uncrashed bike may be a starting point for asking price. But you may have to go lower. If you want to actually MAKE money on the bike, parting the entire vehicle out is the best way to go. But the most work and time consuming. Good Luck on the decision. It's a tough one. We all know here that the FJ-09 is not a steed easily parted with.
  5. Is there ANY chance your wife may get her own ride Wintersdark? The MSF course (or an equivalent Canadian riding class) is an excellent venue to learn to ride! I was lucky enough that my wife did the same and rides her own. If clutch work is a question, try the Honda CTX700 with the Dual Clutch auto trans. Arthritis almost sidelined her riding. She had a Kawasaki Vulcan 750. Stay encouraged! It sounds like you're doing your homework. I hope you find a solution and are able to share a ride with your wife! Good times shared together on a ride are memories that will last!
  6. FYI if this helps your troubleshooting: I did not use an account wanderer. And had not been to the site previously. That would eliminate a cached site.
  7. I was able to get to the site and put the screen in a cart. I'm not actively shopping at the moment. But I could view the cart. The issues may be on your end? I hope you get it sorted!
  8. As an owner of a 2019 Accord (and a 2011 before that) I'm reminded of a reviewer of the car. It sounds like its fitting for the GW. "The Accord is not exciting. But it is very very good." I really like my Accord. However, the FJ-09 gets ridden whenever possible. So the car sits a lot thankfully.
  9. Absolutely! Business has been pretty good for AK Cycles. Scott offers a tow service and winter storage as well. Give him a shout. (240) 583-0469 Scott and Amanda are still slogging through the bureaucracy of Montgomery County Government to get a used bike dealership license/permit. It continues to be a royal pain! But they are persistent and do their homework.
  10. Was the unicorn riding it?And a Rainbow exhaust?

  12. Ok, busted! I didn't want to inject bias. Yes, Scotty is my Boy! I'm very proud of him and his business. He and his business partner Amanda both worked at Rockville Powersports and got very frustrated with the lack of commitment and quality of the owners there. So, true to his words "I can do this better!", he's doing it as a legit business. I'm glad you're pleased with the experience.
  13. Just a pic of the FJ-09 bag with the FJR bag for comparison. (also testing out new photo hosting)
  14. AK Cycles is the place you need! https://akcustomcycles.com/ The Shop is in Gaithersburg area within walking distance of the Metro station near Shady Grove Road. (8637 Ziggy Ln, Gaithersburg, MD 20877) Scott does excellent work and is very conscientious. He even offers pickup and delivery if needed.
  15. Battery life averages from 4-8 years on my bikes. I just got my FJ so I can't speak for it yet. 8 years on my old Concours. When I bought it the seller said it was new. It died a month before I sold it 8 years later. About 4-5 years for my HawkGT, FJR and my wife's Vulcan750. The Vulcan saw about 600 miles a year. The HawkGT sees maybe a couple thousand. The FJR about 4K a year. I keep all my bikes on a Del-Tran battery tender year round.
