Now with 100% more Motodynamics! Flush mount front, integrated tail light, and fender eliminator. Other recent changes include Puig adjustable/folding levers, Rizoma bar ends, and VStream sport shield (courtesy of @jreinhardt). Apparently, just having the integrated tail light is illegal, so I might add some indicators on the side of the plate. Also took off the Givi top rack, as I haven’t been using it this summer. Between that and the fender I think I dropped 15 lbs.

Replaced mine recently and used lithium grease on the pins per the instructions (Puig). Buttery smooth pull.

Does it just pull off or do you have to get a bit more physical with it? Notice any difference from doing it? It came off in one piece for me, just had to work it a bit. It was also pretty filthy, so I wonder if it doesn’t do double duty as a pre-filter. Haven’t had a chance to ride it yet, and I’ll only be commuting until the weekend, the off to the mountains and I’ll see what this flash is all about. ?

Got the ECU back and reinstalled, removed the piece of foam off the front of the tank bottom, put the bike back together and didn't even have any spare parts! Also got some Puig adjustable/folding levers and bar ends. Levers are great, but the bar ends (for an FZ-09) don't thread in flush. I'll have to look at it closer in the morning.

Well in that case, I guess the foam is coming out

did you also remove the foam under the gas tank? ? its a free mod I did not, but everything is still on the operating table, so I could. Details? I don’t know what the foam is for, but is there an advantage to getting rid of it?

Continuing to take advantage of the ECU being off for a flash. Performed additional surgery and removed the charcoal canister this evening. It did NOT come willingly. Almost stripped the bolts holding the mounting bracket to the frame, but it's out.

Successfully performed a lobotomy after work. Off to 2WDW tomorrow.

That tool is pretty nifty. If it shows you’re lined up, I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve been using it the last 50k miles on various bikes, and it hasn’t been wrong yet. Except that one time I left it on the sprocket. Then things went wrong.

Got the recall done. Ticking seems to have gone away, so I’ll ride it for a few weeks to see if it does seem better (I guess just by sound) and maybe have it checked at the 24k service.

Finally, a practical use for the hand gaurds ?

Doooo it. On the pilot note, I had 14 hours in a Cessna 152 in high school. Does that count? ?

Noticed a ticking that seems to have developed on the right side the last couple day. Can only hear it at idle and very low speed, but I see I now have a recall for the CCT, so I guess I'll give that a shot. Bike is a 16 with 22k miles on it now. Maybe I should just have them do the whole 24k service at the same time...

I went with an undampened sprocket. Can’t say I’ve noticed any difference.

Nice. I’m really wanting one of those Shad bags. Got a Givi recently and it’s been very underwhelming. How is the clearance with the tank trim?

Another vote for DID. I got 525 VX for my recent replacement. First chain I've replaced on the FJ, but I've used DID on past bikes, and usually get 17-20k out of them. Update: 15.3k miles later, and I've got a few tight spots and torn rings. There was some extended riding in the rain a few weeks ago that probably contributed to the early demise, but I was hoping for more.

I have the same bag and it is cocked just like yours. It bothered me at first but have just lived with for over two years now. At this point I’m thinking I can just redrill and tap the panel on the bottom of the bag to keep me from twitching. I really want to like it, but I know after riding for ten hours that would drive me clinically bonkers.

I’ve got that bag. Mine line up straight. You have some adjustment on the bottom. See if the holes in the brackets are straight. I tried adjusting the ring on the bottom, but no dice. I talked to the Revzilla people, and they're going to try and warranty it for me, which if yours is on straight I'd be pretty happy about that. I really like the size of the bag.

Received a GIVI XS307 tank bag from Revzilla. Pretty nice bag, but it doesn't seem to line up straight, and that bothers me more than it maybe should. Probably going back.

New chain and sprockets. ~18000 miles on the clock. Probably could have gotten a little more out of the chain if I hadn't left my alignment tool on the rear sprocket and fragged the chain seals last time I adjusted it. Oops. DID 525VX Xring and Vortex steel front and rear sprockets. Reused the nut on the front sprocket with no problem.

Kinda want to remove my medium V-stream now...
