  1. Just the typical questions i guess. Like if it directs over your helmet, buffeting or if it's noisy, that sort of thing. Also is it lightly tinted or clear? Based on internet photos it's hard to tell. If you have time and wouldn't mind posting a photo of yours that would be great. I bought my tracer back in March here in upstate NY so it was chilly in the 50's when i was breaking it in. I felt the stock windscreen was not enough wind protection in chilly temperatures. Now that we are in a tropical heat wave it is fine. However i will want something better when fall comes. Right now the Puig touring or Yamaha touring windscreen are my interests. Thank you
  2. Curious to know if anyone has tried the Yamaha Tracer 900 touring windshield yet? It has an interesting shape to it on the sides. Not sure if it's for hand guard clearance or wind deflection. Part# B1J-F83J0-V0-00
  3. I am interested in this particular screen so i will be following. Thank you!
  4. Thanks for posting this. I installed a Bagster seat on my Tracer which took out most of the slope but there is still a smidge left. I was going to try something like this but maybe with pieces of rubber heater hose from under the plastic adjuster. I did that on one of my other bikes and it worked.
  5. Lisa, Check out the Puig racing screen for your bike. I had one on my 2016 FJ-09 and loved it. I recently sold it to another forum member on here when i traded up to my Tracer GT. It's short n sporty and no buffeting. Like others have mentioned it seems that the shorter the screen the better. Enjoy!
  6. Welcome aboard! I just bought a new 19 Tracer GT a couple months ago myself. I joined the forum close to 3 years ago when i purchased my former FJ-09. Good people on here for advice, guidance and general chat. Not overly strict or uppity like some other forums (TriumphRat) lol. Enjoy getting to know your new Bike!
  7. quaxum- I am about 5'8" with a 30" inseam and also have the FJ/FZ style rubber pegs on my bike. I suppose they are a smidge taller than the stock pegs because of the rubber. I Installed them and rode the bike for a couple weeks before i got the Bagster seat and did not notice any significant difference using them with the stock seat. I swear the Bagster feels shorter to me but so far i am very happy with it as it's very comfortable and looks outstanding.
  8. I noticed this also shortly after i picked my new Tracer GT up. The chain was VERY loose like 65mm of travel. The dealer i bought my Tracer from was a multi-line dealer that also sold dirt bikes. I assumed whoever set that bike up got mixed up with a dirt bike chain spec. I consulted the owners manual that gave a spec of 35-45mm so i adjusted it to 40mm. This has been an issue for a few years with chain tension on other Yamaha models like my XSR900 and former FJ-09. Those manuals state 5-15mm which to me is unrealistic and far to tight so i always went around 30mm on those bikes. I figured on the Tracer GT since the manual gave a realistic spec of 35-45mm that it was believable for that bike. Like betoney said 65-75mm seems like alot of slack.
  9. The seat that i ordered was the Ready Luxe with the upgraded Bultex foam. I do not know about the Motostorm.it. I ordered mine from Chromeburner in the Netherlands and it arrived to me in central NY in 5 days. At the time they had then right in stock but have since sold out. Last i looked they only had the base model seats left.
  10. Yes it was Jfundo. We finally got some warm weather this past weekend but now back in the freezer for a while. Got to ride my XSR900 Saturday and my Tracer GT on Sunday. I rode through Auburn on Sunday to get out near Seneca Falls to catch 90 south. That's a nice seat, i was close to ordering one myself but was worried it may be too tall for me. Where did you order it from? Jim's Motorsports on RT34 between Weedsport and Cato is a Corbin dealer. That's where i ordered my Corbin for my XSR. Better price than internet.
  11. I took my Tracer out yesterday for the maiden voyage on my new Bagster seat. The first thing i noticed was that the seat height seemed lower. With the stock seat (and my previous FJ-09) i always rode with it in the low position so that's how i installed the Bagster. I could actually flatfoot on both sides of the bike which i could not before. I thought the foam could be cut differently on the sides which it may be, but as i got to riding i noticed i felt closer to the foot pegs. There is still some slight forward lean but i would say it's reduced at least by half of the stock seat. I rode it like that for about 50 miles. After i re-fueled i decided to try it in the high position. Turns out that was just what i needed to reduce some of the bend at my knees. I can still half foot the bike as i could before with the stock seat in the low position and ride very comfortably. I rode like that for the next 100 miles and had no issues. Overall i am very pleased with the Bagster seat in both appearance and comfort. I found the talk about underwear very interesting and never gave it much thought. Yesterday i was wearing thin boxers so i could probably find more comfort in an actual cycling short of some kind.
  12. That figures as i purchased mine at the end of April.
  13. NO it is not, i have both bikes. I forget the exact measurement but GT wheelbase is nearly 2" longer.
  14. Well my Bagster seat that was originally given an ETA of May 4th actually arrived yesterday. 5 days from ChromeBurner Motorgear in the Netherlands to Syracuse NY. Unbelievable!!! I hope the weather improves this weekend so I can get some seat time on it. So far just sitting on it is a noticeable improvement.
  15. OUCHHHH!!! Sorry to hear about that dismount failure. Glad you got your seat though. To my surprise my new Bagster seat actually arrived yesterday. Hoping the weather improves soon so i can try it out.
  16. I was very close to ordering the Yamaha comfort seat until i discovered the Bagster seats from the other members here. I took a gamble on it just like you are with the comfort seat. Would be interested to know how you like it after you get some seat time on it.
  17. The 2008 Tiger 1050 would probably be somewhat close to the Tracer in the sense of being a 3 cyl engine, upright comfy riding position and about the same performance. I think it was rated at 114 HP. It was a comfy ride but didn't care for the cushy soft suspension and didn't want to throw $12-1500 at upgrading it. The stock projector headlights were absolutely horrible also. The 2011 Sprint GT is in no way similar the the Tracer 900 GT. It was a beautiful blue great looking motorcycle with huge panniers and trunk but it was extremely uncomfortable for me and i never really bonded with it. The riding position was somewhat aggressive with pegs that were too high and a forward lean riding position. It put too much pressure on my wrists and i couldn't ride it more than 50 miles with out my wrists going numb.
  18. Those little Ninja's work great don't they? Iv'e been using them for a couple years now.
  19. Your welcome Jeff, i thought the same thing about all the choices. I originally started specking out a multi-colored seat. Then i saw that they were closed for a while then re-opened on limited staff so i changed my mind. Over the winter i special ordered a custom Corbin cafe seat with 4 colors for my XSR that really fit the retro vibe of that bike. I decided to keep it simple for the Tracer so I started looking at the other retailers that members had mentioned on my thread. Turns out that Chromeburner had the exact simple black & blue bultex seat that i wanted right in stock. It shipped out yesterday and tracking# says it ETA is May 4th. Obviously that's not etched in stone but at least it's on the way.
  20. I just ordered a Speedo Angels nano glass kit also but i bought it from their ebay store. I ordered it on April 14th and received it just yesterday on April 23rd so i thought that was pretty fast from the UK. Those things are awesome. I put one on my XSR900 and FJ-09 last summer also. I hope you get yours soon.
  21. wordsmith- I ordered my Bagster seat last night from a Bagster retailer called ChromeBurner in the Netherlands that member BBB had mentioned. They had the exact seat i wanted in stock and it's shipping out today. Ready Luxe with Bultex foam and the blue piping/stitching. The retailers that others had mentioned had great pricing as well but were generally 2-4 weeks lead time. I'm still holding onto hopes of being able to make my Smoky Mountain Dragon trip in 3 weeks so i went with ChromeBurner since it should arrive the soonest. They answered my email before i ordered and confirmed what you said. The seat is waterproof and can be used in both hi and low positions. I read your past posts/ reviews on the seat and saw your photos. Thank you for taking the time to interact with me about the seat and helping me pull the trigger on a brand of seat that is very foreign to me. Literally since i'm in the US.
  22. Congratuations mattemike. Last month i traded in my FJ-09 on a new leftover 2019 Tracer GT. Here in central NY (NOT NYC) winter will not let go so i have only ridden a little over 500 miles on it so far but i am loving it. Especially the features that my FJ did not have. Also like the extended wheelbase which i think makes for a much more stable and well planted ride. Last summer my buddy had a MT-10 that i took a short ride on. I really liked the bike but it thought it would be a bit overkill for what i was looking for at the time. I opted for a new XSR900 instead which makes a great pairing with my new Tracer GT.
  23. wordsmith- Thank you for the photo. You actually answered a couple questions that i emailed to Bagster. I asked if the seat can still be used in both positions. I also asked them if the black woven suede material was water absorbing. When i think of black suede it makes me think back to when i was shopping seats for my XSR900. The Yamaha comfort seat for the XSR is literally black suede. Kind of like corduroy pants from the 70's. Your photo is a big help and much more real-life than the internet photo. The piping even looks like a match to the Yamaha "blurple" color.
  24. wordsmith- I am very interested in the Bagster seat. Do you feel as though it addresses the forward slope of the stock GT seat? That is my biggest issue with it. I constantly find myself having to skooch back. Thanks.
  25. Thanks BBB. I actually went on the website and speced out a nice looking seat. How do you get pricing? Must have to pick one of the individual retailers I'm guessing?
