Auto-blip is *much* more complicated and requires more involved programming, so it demands much more money.

Word. Spend enough time watching and studying MotoGP bikes / coupled with actual riding experience, down shift with rev matching is a science to the bike. I know you designed a QS. I have a healtech. Something I’m sure you studied when you did some development work. It will allow for a DS in certain circumstances. I have tested it. It work and slips in gear just like going up. However, really useless without rev matching. Using it under the fun circumstances when you want it - no go.

There’s a little decal that comes with these adjusters that you can stick onto the swingarm, and then index the back of the adjuster body to the marks on the decal.

It’s a bit cheesy, admittedly.   I use a Motion Pro chain alignment tool, and don’t worry about the index marks.

They should not even put the index decal in the box. They are way cheesy for a well machined part and does not stick at all. Not to mention could “slip” from where you originally got them on and now your calibration is off.

So, @ChadTheFoxFox - This is secret forum speak for “we will find ways to coerce you into spending money on things that you literally did not know existed before you met us”

Welcome!   @coachluciano will be your tour guide...  :)

@texscottydspeaking of that, finally got some miles on all my new winter projects. Now I fully understand the benefits of my new Brembo Hydraulic clutch. I’ll write up a review on the thread in a few days. Bagster seat is awesome and the 320mm conversion is also most excellent.

LOTS of used R1 rotors on Ebay, I would check carefully for warpage, glazing and/or surface contamination.  I have to agree with @texscottyd though, for a few dollars more, just buy brand new.  Its kind of like buying used chain and sprockets...

You can’t be cheap when it comes to the single most important function on your bike. If you going through the process of upgrading (not like there’s anything wrong with stock) you see the value. Why skimp on finances at that point? Factor in the bolts you will need. I have a set of brand new R1 rotors sitting on my floor as we speak. Just waiting for my Titanium bolts to arrive from my favorite place, China. Should have them this week. Where did you get the spacers May I ask?

No mods requires or useful for the FJ. It’s possible to fill the tank to the rim without any mods, but this is not advisable as the fuel will spill if you put the bike on the side stand. My initial post was not advocating for overfilling the tank, just noting that the Yamaha spec of 4.8 gallon is really conservative + that filling on the center stand makes a difference.

Don't fill up your tank beyond the bottom plate in the fill hole - there is a breather hose in there and if you plug it with gas, bike no start

A spacer. Something to wedge in the socket to keep the plug tight.  When I used my 12v socket, I would have to wrap electrical tape around the plug to add width and push it in tight, by buddy also has a '15 FJ and would occasionally push a thin piece of cardboard between the plug and socket but it would eventually vibrate loose on both bikes no matter what we tried.

    What @betoney said.  :)

I mentioned changing out the front sprocket for a plain jane one(no noise damper) and I guess this is the last thing people will do or not even do, after chasing the vibrations doing foot pegs, handlebars, etc

I must be cursed because my FJ has next to no vibrations. At all. I often ponder at various speeds wondering what everyone else feel who do experience issues.

I took a chance on these Chinese knock-offs from Ebay.  While they are constructed fine, they have no index notch or mark on the center black axle block to reference with the measurement marks.  With no point of reference they are effectively worthless.

I tried them for awhile and the only way that I could measure distance was with a digital caliper on each side, getting them equal on each side took forever and was a complete pain in the a$$.  Now they collect dust in the garage.

I tried to tell y’all. Glad we have proof. Yes the originals are expensive, but well worth it and they add a nice bling-factor.
