I took the GT for a ride today to a motorcycle machine shop near me to ask if they would make 11mm caliper spacers for the 320mm brake rotor upgrade. The guy said sure and asked me for the rest of the measurements, which I didn't have on me, better to let him take his own measurements anyway. Next thing I know the guys opening the shop door to bring the bike in and asking me what size socket I need to take the calipers off and he is measuring away. Long story short it's going to cost as much to have 20 pieces done as having 4 pieces $125.00. He won't be able to get to it around for a couple of weeks so if all goes well there will be a couple of set for sale at cost plus shipping.😉

Put me on the list. I missed the last round when a bunch on this forum all upgraded.

Part kit is on National Backorder till 11/21/19... Even tho it's listed as "in stock" .. Got an "I'm sorry" email with the option to cancel order or wait... I picked to wait 🙄...

well worth the wait - and a fairly easy install to boot.  Hardest part of aligning up the shift rod with the internal cogs.  You will know what I'm talking about when you get there.  Have a beer or two ready to ease the frustration.

I'm really curious to see how much lighter pull this has when used in combination with the assist/slipper clutch.

Let me see if my trigger pull gauge goes up that high - lol.  But you make a great point.  I need to do some measurements before I start the swap.  Still trying to find a decent pressure switch that is needed.  For some reason the clutch does not have a mechanical switch, whereas the brake did. I had one delivered today but not a sure that what i want that one on the final product.  I'm not good at documenting stuff, but in this case I will.  Always have to give back to this forum whenever possible.  Even if no one ever reads it, its part of the knowledge database.

  5. All good questions. I’m assuming next to no maintenance other than keeping the fluid fresh. Easy with proper tools. Weight will nominal difference, I’m guessing 1-2 beers possibly. I’ll have the clutch and the slave here Friday. Clutch pull with my slipper will be melted butter. Any suggestions on where to get a custom hydraulic line? Need to make some measurements and get that ordered and then we’ll have the $500 answer. Or at least I will.

  6. Yummy - Mailman never looked so good.  New master cylinder going on as soon as I can get a single line banjo bolt.  Ships assuming no ABS and 2 lines for each caliper, so had to order a new banjo bolt.  Out of the box, impressed.  This is going to be a really nice addition with some unknown benefits I'm sure.  This is why I'm moving to the dang hydraulic clutch.  It's the only true companion from an aesthetics point of view.

Have you done the suspension, had the ECU flashed, maybe a new exhaust? Do you have heated grips, led lights or a better windshield? I'm really curious about why you feel you need a new clutch. Will it make your bike faster, last longer, more reliable. Maybe the reason you don't see a lot of clutch stuff is that the stock part works well.

Here is where I stand today with mods:

  8. Has anyone here successfully added the Brembo RCS19 Hydraulic clutch to is bike?  Looking for winter projects and want something to match the Brembo Corsa Corta master cylinder I just ordered. I did a lot of web research and seems like there is little out there on the FJ-09 and hydraulic clutches except for Magura. By the way, Magura is great, have them on my mountain bike. Thoughts and / or reasons to completely avoid? Otherwise I guess come Feb there will be some data on the conversion. It’s not cheap. Could only find one company to that makes the slave cylinder to actuate the clutch. Any advice here is welcome as well.

BikeMaster sells a brake MC mirror perch bracket clamp cheap

I installed a 2014 R1 Brembo MC with integral bleed port and adapted an ebay brake fluid reservoir with my own L-bracket between the mirror extender  and clamp / perch.  2014 R1 320 mm rotors and Forks by Matt caliper  spacers and longer bolts with Speigler lines and EBC HH+ pads means stoppies are easily controllable

Very nice - next question , how much do you like it compared to stock, or is that just a dumb question all-around??

No, I don't have the Brembo MC.  Since I installed the braided brake lines I currently have the oem MC installed.  I also have an R1 MC that I might re-install over the winter.

@coachluciano - You will need to buy a Mirror Perch Adapter but since it has standard threads you will have to source a reverse thread adapter to fit Yamaha mirrors, I found one a few years ago in the U.K.

Thanks. My Sargent is 2” wider which drives me nuts. Make the bike look too wide for the way I have mine set up. Will be getting a Bagster over the winter for sure. Guess there’ll be a Sargent for sale at some point as well. Lol. Thanks again for measuring. Confirmed what I see in the pictures. Much narrower and conforms to the bike line much better.

@coachluciano - I posted the dimensions of the Bagster seat over on the other thread as requested and have now just seen this post.  If the seat you were looking for was definitely leather then I don't think Bagster seats have a leather option.

I'm not 100% certain of that but a quick search for 'leather' on their site came up with a 'not found'.

    Just thought I'd mention it.

Def the Bagster I was looking for.  Not sure why I thought it was leather. I’ll pull up your post. Thanks. I think I’m going to make the move over the winter. I’m huge on aesthetics as well and although the Sargent is sweet it does not flow on the bike. The width of the rear part of the seat looks like wings. I get why, but looking for something that is not much wider than the rear fairing. @dazzler24 thanks again. @wordsmith - thanks for all you input in past posts on this seat. Appreciate it.

Following on from the above post, here's a pic from August 2018 of the BAGSTER seat that I had made for my last-but-one Tracer.   You can see that it's pretty simple in design, yet I think quite attractive in its own way.    The GT seat, from pix shown, is a little different in some detail but follows the same general shape.   Main thing is, though - it worked like a charm, and I'll follow similar lines but with Cobalt Blue stitching (matching 'blurple') if/ when I order a new BAGSTER seat for my GT.

Incidentally, MOTOSTORM.IT have replied that they still don't have full info on a new GT seat, so it's all looking a little murky.    I'll follow-up later today with an e-mail direct to BAGSTER in France: they should know.

When you get a chance can you measure the width on the widest part of the main seat?

  14. I think you are correct - I have a Sargent seat which I like, but looking for something slimmer.  The Sargent seat fans out and my ass aint that big.  Add to that I spend 90% of the time hugging the tank and leave about 3 inches behind me unused.  Looking for narrow from front to back.
