  1. Bummer that there are no admins around here to help...
  2. It was really simple - the case shape and seat pan matched up enough to give the box really only one place it would sit. Then I just drilled and bolted as described in the other thread. Very low-tech. Your method will be a lot more secure also. The seat connection can carry a lot of down-force (person sitting on it) - but I think the shear or under tension would not be all that strong? Dunno, but your metal straps appear quite robust.
  3. OK, I give up. 32 posts and still can't list my FJ here
  4. higher is also better for the light pattern it will put out. low causes more and longer shadows and gets blocked easier.
  5. I also have the top one that DT675 posted, and find it basically unusable due to the vibes. Maybe a SERIOUS vibe dampener would help...
  6. that's pretty slick! I was thinking you could have just swapped out the seat pan like I did here, but your method pushs the tanks a littl further to the rear - closer to your tail bag... Well done...
  7. Well, bummer I still can't post to list my bike. Any moderators around that might help me learn what's wrong?
  8. Well, bummer. Still can't open a thread to offer up my bike. So, I'll just link to that at a different forum: https://www.twtex.com/forums/threads/2015-yamaha-fj-09-4900-final-price-drop.135663/
  9. I'm at 26 total posts and still can't post an Ad. My FJ-09 is ready for the next rider, but I can't offer it up here, yet... Any other limitations keeping me from being able to post?
  10. I have the HotWired jacket liner and gloves... and they are great. Big thing about these (other than price) is that the controller is built into the jacket and gloves - as opposed to needing to install a knob or buttons on the bike. Makes swapping between bikes very cheap - the wire harness is something like $10..
  11. Greetings from Austin (and sometimes Alpine). Not a lotta chatter in this US Southwest.... Weather now is simply perfect for riding, so let's get out there...
  12. One more vote for HJC - mine if F71 I believe. Very quiet and light. Decent but not amazing ventilation. Pinlock is great, sun visor included, and they are great value (IE: cheap).
  13. I'm a long-time Locus user also. I pay something annually for it, and it's very actively developed. You can sync stuff to their cloud service now, which makes it handy not only for backup, but to curate or delete routes, group 'em, etc. I think you can share tracks also, like this one, which is kinda cool.
  14. Hope your back is OK. And I'm totally NOT just posting here also to get myself over that pesky 25 post limit
  15. Ditto. Mine has been in my FJ since 2018, and I've yet to need that Restart feature. Comforting to know it's there, though.. But yeah, a 9 year old OE battery won't live for too much longer. Just replace it with a new Lithium one with the backup / restart capability..
