Worth thinking laterally so could this relate to changes impacting you rather than the bike? Reason I ask, in my first year of ownership I had absolutely no issues with vibration then I broke my right collarbone on a track day (not on the Tracer GT!) and a year on I now get severe tingly in my right arm and hand within 30 minutes of riding. I have a variety of other bikes which don’t cause the same problem so assume there is an engine frequency with the CP3 engine that just sets this off. Not sure of the cure but will continue to monitor this thread

Thanks both and for the extensive review Flyfifer, some goods points to bear in mind. I have been using an old magnetic tank bag but feel the tank lock vanity with one of the small bags would suit my needs better. I’ll still keep the magnetic one for my classic bikes. Flyfifer - where you say the bars rub the bag on lock, even in the more rear fitting, would a smaller bag avoid that? David

I’m in the market for a tank bag for a 2020 GT. I want one of the filler cap mount ones. discounting the Chinese offerings the choices (at least in Europe) come down to SW Motech, Shad and Givi. Anyone have any of these and care to share their review?

I think Pyramid do 2 sizes of their Fenda Extender, the standard one in the pics above but also a long one that seems super practical but spoils the look somehow IMHO

Had the same issue for the first time today. Bike is a 2020 Tracer Gt with 2200 miles on it. I hadn’t used it for about a month and went for a ride today in 5c degrees and 1/4 mile into the ride the oil warning light came on. I had seen this thread previously so I just ignored it and carried on and the light went off after another 1/4 mile after I had sat at the lights, giving the oil a chance to warm. checked the oil level tonight and of course it is perfect and just a glitch in the oil level sensor when the oil is cold as previously reported on here.

Not sure if it is important to you but the new 2021 Tracer is Euro 5 compliant where the 2020 isn’t. To achieve this Yamaha increased the capacity from 847cc to 889cc and the horsepower increases marginally, though in the real world you wouldn’t notice. There is a risk that European governments will implement Euro 5 only areas in cities which would be a PITA as Yamaha and bike dealers have always said that the 2019-20 models could easily meet Euro 5 standards but were never certified as it wasn’t an industry requirement.

That is really frustrating. My Mercedes Vito is doing the same thing , throwing the engine management light and it does rock your confidence so I hope the dealer can offer you a diagnostic tomorrow when they re-open. At least that's one thing about this generation of bikes, they do have OBD so at least the error code can be reset and hopefully restore all functionality on the dash. May be worth investing in a basic OBD reader so you can read and reset codes at those times when the dealer is unavailable. I am going to get this one as based on my experience with my Vito I am starting to think of an OBD reader as an essential basic tool. Thread makes an interesting comparison. I rode a 650 Versys for 9 years before I bought my Tracer GT. It was (is) a brilliant all round bike and I used it for everything from commuting, touring and shopping but the Tracer is a much more developed bike, with better engine, suspension and brakes as well as the ability to carry a passenger. They are also about the same weight so comparable when pushing/ moving them around and the Yamaha is so far able to return better fuel mileage than the Kawasaki. The Yamaha is a clear upgrade IMHO but let the debate continue 🤔

Thanks Heli and Betoney. The one I am looking at is different from the picture posted. The mounting from the arms is horizontal ,rather than vertical in Betoneys pic. I have finally found a part number 2PP-FRLUG-XX for one I am looking at and B5CF48D00000 for the one I need, which interestingly is a one piece unit rather than separate arms with a mountable plate. Hopefully the part numbers will help someone else on this forum David

I believe it was fitted to a 2017 when I referred to ‘early’ so you have answered my question if the tail section changed in 2019 and I have a 2020 the 2017 rack probably isn’t compatible. Thanks for your response 👍

Hi - Does any know if the Yamaha rack for the early models fits the 2020 model or did they change it? I looked for part numbers but struck out. I have been offered an early rack (arms and plate) but am not sure if it is compatible?

You will have to ride your bike here in the U.K. to even out your tyre wear😂 on a separate note I’m impressed by the mileage you achieved from the original Dunlop’s, 14k from the rear might be a record🤔

As Piotrek says it is likely engineered in. Every one of my bikes (6) does exactly the same

Interesting solution Mamaganet, works the same as the one Chris mentions above and I have just fitted tonight. It is a bit rough round the edges but does the job well and I have always preferred function over form. I have kept a second RAM ball on the factory mount by the handlebar clamps. All I need now is an end to the big freeze when I can get bike out and put some more miles on it🥶

I have the factory GPS mount which fits to the handlebar mounting clamps and an AMPS Ram ball mounted to that. I find that with either a phone, GPS or GoPro attached it blocks an area of the instrument panel. I am now looking at this as it fixes to the screen adjuster so seems to mount the device front and centre and at a better height to not take your eyes off the road. I think the cabin fever of lockdown is taking hold over here too . The weather is still too icy to ride so I found myself heading into the garage after work to remove the front mudguard as I have ordered a fender extender to try and keep the front of the engine clean. This isn't the sort of job I would normally get excited about so is definitely a sign of the times we find ourselves in!!

I vote for suspension ( this is starting to look like a referendum😂). My rationale is if the seat hurts your ass you can stop, if the suspension set up doesn’t work you may not be able to stop!

I think that is what I missed, the chance to bond on the ride home. Due to lockdown I had to do click and collect so bought it with a video walk round/ start up, a bit of a weird experience. I had to collect it in my van as my wife wasn’t free so there was just me and the amount of salt on the van when I got home convinced me I did the right thing not riding it back. At this rate I won’t be challenging any of the iron butt high mileage members of this forum!

I picked up my new to me 2020 Tracer 900 GT on Saturday and it hasn’t stopped raining since! Mine is a dealer demo bike with 280 miles on it as literally as new but I got £1500 off list which pleased me immensely . The dealer had installed the factory chain guard and GPS mount . Compared to my old Kawasaki Versys, the owners manual is encyclopaedic so I can spend some time studying and adjusting things I have never used before such as traction control settings, cruise control and heated grips. This will be my long term ‘sensible do everything’ bike as I have a collection of 2 strokes when I need to use a bike for maximum fun. The ‘ new world’ means I now work from home rather than an office so no more commuting, which used to be the majority of my bike miles so I am hoping the Tracer will remain in better condition than my previous commuter bikes. I look forward to learning through the forum and contributing where I can. David
