  1. Welcome Jofra. The bars are SW-Motech, the axle spindle bobbins / sliders are Evotech, and the case guards are Chinese from Aliexpress. I know, made of cheese, but they'll do the job for a tip over in the driveway or garage.
  2. The SW-Motech bars won't do it all. I have the SW-Motechs in the OP, axle slider things and case savers. I usually ride with panniers, and have not crash tested anything.
  3. Nice idea with the mudflap. Look at the forward end of the hugger, there is a cut-out that Yamaha seeming designed so that mud can pass through to the shock. Your flap will not stop that. True. I wonder why the hole is there ? Might try covering it a bit of gaffer tape and see if it gets dirty.
  4. Today was hot and wet, so I made a mud flap for the rear shock, inspired by the one made by @redfjniner at http://fj-09.org/thread/526/flap-protect-rear-shock-road A plastic piece from the retail pack of a set of MX knee guards fitted after a little trim, held on to the pannier crossbrace with 2 zip ties through the existing holes. You can see the hugger extender and lower mounts for the panniers too. I also fitted some case savers/engine guards, fitted a rear axle spindle slider , adjusted the gear lever up about an inch, and also tested a couple of cheap voltmeters. The black one with the red readout is much brighter, but has no USB ports, and the one with blue numbers is too hard to read in daylight. Both are cheap and not accurate, it would be better to wire one in if you were concerned about your voltage. . . Once this cyclonic weather disperses I'll test the gear lever height with my new boots.
  5. Good idea. More for "I have my wallet, but no cash for that $3 latte."
  6. Those displacer brackets are on ebay now. A possible solution for any screen that just hits the hand guards ?
  7. Now I'm a bit dissatisfied with noise level in the Bell RS-1. It's fine on the R6, but on the '09 with the stock screen, it's much noisier and I need to wear earplugs. I hate earplugs. With the Givi 2122DT screen the Bell is OK, but it's too hot for that screen now. I'm considering a Shoei Neotec and am also very tempted by the Schuberth C3 Pro at the moment. It's on sale at about the same price as the Shoei Neotec. (C3 is even cheaper). Looks like another helmet for the rack.
  8. Has anyone tried these brackets from ebay - "For YAMAHA MT-09 FJ-09 2015-2016 Motorcycle Accessories Handguard Wind piece Mount Bracket" ? They look like they move the knuckle wind deflectors out and up by about an inch. I wonder if they're meant to improve airflow. Edit: Figured out that they may be to prevent after market screens hitting the hand guards.
  9. I'd like to swap the pan for the new one, but it looks like the exhaust covers several nuts on the pan. I might do the low profile drain plug mod instead: http://fj-09.org/thread/540/low-profile-drain-plug-install
  10. You should complain to the shire/county/state responsible for that road.
  11. This is the 2016 silver blue (MT-09TRAG) sold in Australia. The drain plug is on the bottom, same as the earlier models. I'll be checking showroom bikes for this every time I visit now. Soon, very soon..
  12. Sounds interesting. Can you post some pictures ?
  13. LOL wut?? And no, I am NOT Googling THAT. Love my pussygrips. P-) Similar to grip puppies.
  14. Lets see. By today I mean yesterday. [ul type=disc] [*]Cut out the plastic divider under the rear seat to open up the space for a disc lock and cable.[*]Bought a sheepskin to make a seat cover.[*]Fitted a rear mudflap (ductail tour), already have a hugger extender.[*]Removed the Givi screen and put the stock one back on at lowest setting. It's too hot now for reduced airflow. Missing the quiet.[*]Fitted a Kaoko throttle lock.[*]Fitted pussygrips.[*]Bought a light XXL fabric cover. It stows quite small and fits over the Givi screen.[*]Glued on the pannier rubbers.[*]Put a helmet lock carabiner under the rear seat.[*]Fitted oggy knobs on the forks.[*]Ordered an 8mm hex nut so I can properly torque the engine bolts through the SW-Motech bars.[*]Ordered some 303 protectant.[*]Bought some clear plasti dip to protect the p*ssweak silver finish above the lights.[*]Stalled the bike at the front of traffic lights. It was a long wait, and I was distracted by a nice rear end..[/ul] Went for a ride.
  15. Gee, I'd get thicker soled boots..
  16. Last night - added Givi 2122DT screen - I can ride with my visor open, but there's a little buffeting with it in the lowest position (180cm (5'10") and seat at low). SW-Motech crash bars. Hugger extension from a UK plastic co - rivetted on. Mirror risers. I like these.
  17. Replaced the stock horn with a Stebel magnum. This shows the size difference, and that's why I did not install the high/low pair:
  18. Last night I added the Dzell LEDs on the knuckle guards. Also applied blue Loctite to relevant fittings, and changed the horn from the Stebel Magnum deep to the higher pitched one.
  19. That's the place. Saw while tracking that mine went via Fedex from Italy, Paris, New Delhi, Guangzhou, Jakarta, Singapore and Sydney Australia. I use an app called TrackChecker.
  20. Replaced the stock horn with a Stebel Magnum (TM80/2). Louder and larger than the original, and without fabricating a bracket only one of the two Stebels will fit (I chose the deeper pitched one). Horny bike !
  21. Great ! I don't think the pre delivery procedure is very thorough, as there are reports of loose bar end bolts from all over the world.
  22. The "Racing Blu" looks good ! MT-07 Tracer - The local importers won't officially know till after it's announced, maybe at the EICMA trade show. (19-22 Nov) I had great service from them in Melbourne a few bikes ago, gave me a new model to test for a whole day, before it was in the dealers.
  23. YAMAHA FJ-09 MT-09 Tracer 2015 Black Motorcycle CNC Windscreen bracket Red, blue or silver. (puke) "This item can replace OEM pallet, it does not affect your use. At the same time it can bring you different feeling."
  24. That Klim Adventure Rally Air jacket looks neater than my wife's Motoport. It just hit the top of my wishlist. I think Santa might bring me a Revit Cayenne Pro jacket though.
