  1. As Wordsmith said - Dzell, here's a link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/172204027933
  2. Lions road was still closed when I went South a few weeks ago, and I ended up going via Rathdowney and Kyogle too. From there to Casino and West to Tenterfield, South to Glen Innes, East to Grafton, South-West to Armidale, South to Walcha, East to Wauchope, North to Kempsey. Now starting to plot a 5 day course to the Moto GP at Phillip Island in October. I'll try to catch Midnight Oil somewhere.
  3. I currently use the Revit Cayenne Pro "meshish" and like it. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/revit-cayenne-pro-jacket Also use a waist length perforated leather jacket sometimes in summer. I'm in Queensland, so moderate temperatures most of the year (Min 12 Max 36ish) Nearly bought the Sand 3 for cooler rides, but the Cayenne does OK down to 8C with merino and cycling layers. Also considering an inflatable like the Helite vest. https://www.revzilla.com/helite
  4. Yep, the handlebar recall applies to Australia. See this thread: https://fj-09.org/thread/5008/new-recalls-on-yamaha-triples?page=8
  5. I have the C3 camera, bought directly from Innovv. If I were to use a PDM I'd probably get the Innovv, $69 (I guess USD + shipping). But i use the two cig lighters with two ebay "Tronsmart quickcharge 3" USB ports on each side, they power: [ul type=disc][*]C3 dashcam switch [*]phone/GPS[*]grip warmers[*]LiitoKala single 18650 charger/powerbank in tankbag.[/ul] Driving Handguard lights are on the aux power source behind the nose. Driving Daytime Running Lights lights are powered from the battery via fused SAE cable under the seat that doubles as tyre compressor power or could be used for a battery tender, with a relay, and a switch on the handlebars. I had to re-terminate the portable compressor with SAE connectors to suit.
  6. I notice that Innovv are now making a Power Distibution Module for motorcycles, $69 : http://www.webbikeworld.com/t2/innovv-power-hub-review/ http://www.innovv.com/innovv-power-hub1-cjxt (I am happy with one of their C3 cameras mounted on a crash bar.)
  7. Gibraltar Range, east of Bolivia, New South Wales, New Holland... .
  8. Put on a set of $10 USB handlebar warmers from ebay - and there's a wire broken from the start. But they do work, just need an inline switch. I soldered them up and put them under new grip puppies. They come with a velcro cover that would fit the grips without puppies. http://www.ebay.com/itm/162285340872 BTW I live in subtropical QLD, it rarely dips below 12 degrees C (53F) here, so these are just for fun...
  9. A year or so ago I did the flap mod from @redfjniner , and put on a hugger extension, and blocked the hole with gaffer (duct) tape, and added a Pyramid Plastics ductail to the rear mudguard, and the shock still gets a little dirty.
  10. Where are you? The fog light kit is offered as an accessory by Yamaha here. yshop.yamaha-motor.com.au/products/led-fog-light-set-mounts
  11. At least one here: http://fj-09.org/thread/2845/crazy-iron-crash-bar Higdonian do a similar setup. http://fj-09.org/thread/2606/higdonion-cages-hey
  12. Nice, good position too. I wish we could use amber here. It's restricted to indicators and amber fog lights are only allowed on when it's foggy, (unless it's a traffic control vehicle).
  13. Just fixed my early 2016 model with the plug in the bottom of the pan. A minute with a hacksaw and file and all is done. I'd still put a bash plate and D/S tyres to run dirt roads with though.
  14. For reference, here's the Givi 2122DT touring with the MRA X-creen sport extender/spoiler/deflector. Adjustable on the move, in that position it gives a quiet zone that doesn't cause wobble of the peak on helmets. I'm about 5"10 and 32" inseam in the old measurements. The MRA X-creen sport is too wide for the stock windscreen, I have a Givi "universal windshield deflector" for that. The stock screen and Givi "universal windshield deflector" will be going back on when the weather heats up again, as it gives nice clean air with with the blast hitting upper chest/neck. Sorry, no pictures of the Givi "universal windshield deflector" until I refit it on the bike. incidentally, I rode an F800GS Adventure (and an R1200GS Adventure :-) yesterday and it also had quite a noisy stock screen. Yes it does rain on the Sunshine Coast sometimes.
  15. Added a camera, the Innovv C3. It acts like a dashcam, a new file every 3 minutes and looping once it fills the card. The 90 degrees lens is on a cable and the main unit is under the pillion seat. I am running it from a USB on the front lighter socket, with an inline USB switch (to reduce potential self incrimination). It's mounted on the SW-Motech bars, which are mounted on the engine, so it's getting the engine vibes. The colour balance is too blue, I can correct that with the software. Here's a test video, filmed in the awful mid winter conditions here on the Sunshine Coast ! [video src=https://youtu.be/uQ7B-YHOiOg?t=66] .
  16. You may be right about interference in the lowest setting, I haven't tried that as my Givi is best in the highest position. If you did want 3 positions you would need 6 holes and would need to remove and reinsert the QR bolt. I did use the serrated rings, with flat washers. http://fj-09.org/post/44139/thread I currently have the stock screen on the Givi mount, with a Givi spoiler/deflector, and a GPS mount above the dash: http://fj-09.org/post/42681/thread When I get an X-creen sport I'll put the Givi screen back on and have another look at the QR bolt positions.
  17. Hi @duhs10 You need 3 holes per side - one for each position. To adjust the windscreen, simply release the clamp, and take the nut off the other end, and slide the QR bolt out. Adjust the height as normal. Then reinsert the QR bolt if you have drilled holes for the other two positions. I have only drilled for the high position. Here's the original post, it's not much of a how-to: May 26, 2016 18:47:39 GMT 10 suncoaster said: The windscreen bracket movement was bugging me, so I put a bicycle quick release axle bolt in the windscreen mount, which completely stabilizes it. The QR bolt was around $9 for two. Drilled a 5mm hole in each side of the mount, and the axle bolt goes right through. Shown with the screen at highest setting. Left side, Right side.[span] [/span][span] [/span][span] [/span][span] [/span][span] [/span][span] [/span] There are lots of these bicycle "skewers" on ebay, I chose these ones because of the flat end nut, graspable by a spanner: www.ebay.com/itm/252336273687 and only used the short one. = www.red-land.cn/products-detail.asp?cpid=176 Road Bike: F: 112mm / R: 148mm (You can get them from your local bicycle shop or Walmart equivalent too.) Just for clarity, this is in addition to the factory knobs, not a replacement. You have to drill holes for this, one for each position on each side. The pictures show the high position. The screen is now rock solid. I currently have the Givi 2122DT 69 x 50 cm (H x W) screen.
  18. Yes, it bothered me too, so I did this, which worked: http://fj-09.org/post/41809/thread
  19. Just got a Schuberth E1. Very quiet and comfortable. It has a noticeable cool spot on the back of the head, perhaps the shell is higher there than my Bell RS-1. Unfortunately the shield is not compatible with the large Givi windscreen. Too much buffeting. It has 3 positions, in the highest one, it's invisible, in the lowest it's too low in your vision. The middle position has the most buffeting, enough to blur vision at speed. The wind does not grab the helmet when head checking at speed. In contrast, my MX helmet really grabs the breeze and tests neck muscles. I've now taken the shield off, and the helmet is basically a C3 Pro without it. I'll put the shield back on when the weather warms up again and I go back to a smaller windscreen. It came with a pinlock fitted, my first. I like the buckle system, it means I don't have to put my gloves on after the helmet. It has an internal sun visor which works better than I thought, and I can now ride without sunglasses.
  20. Fitted a Kappa K47 topbox. It came with a mounting plate and bolted onto my existing rack. I bought the pillion backrest for it as well. Took it up to about 130kph (private track) and didn't notice any difference. Its large enough, fits one helmet, not two. Now we can do 2 up trips with luggage. I might investigate adding brake lights into the red plastic "eyes". Also adjusted the headlight, it needed about 40 quarter turns lower.
  21. Thanks for posting this. Not a recall (yet?) in Australia, here is the official product recalls site for other Aussies reference: http://www.recalls.gov.au
