Are you aware of any negative effects to engine or clutch from lugging the motor in top gear that low in the rev range?  When you grab a handful of throttle and there is a slight delay before it downshifts a few gears, there can be chugging and lurching.  Thankfully the other modes shift normally.

Never seen an issue with any DCT. just on the atvs and that was the early systems and often owner caused problems. 
I rode a 24 GL yesterday, I think Honda has made some “hidden” changes as it felt even smoother still. It also anticipated downshifting when coming to a stop, quite satisfying.

It’s been a few years, but they were fine. Looking for a 750 instead of a 700 would be advised, and the newest you can afford.
