ruenjou
Just picked up a brand new 2017 FJ09 in Roseville CA and rode 140 miles home. This is my first sub-500 pounds bike and it is an amazing one. I thought my FJR1300 was fast and the FJ09 is just as fast. Moving it around the garage is a much easier task now. wordsmith
Totally agree - shoving the bike around in the garage is so much easier (and safer!) than trying to muscle past BMWs around. Even more so when you've got no muscles - I yearn to be a 7-stone weakling! Enjoy the bike... Riding a fully-farkled 2019 MT-09 Tracer 900 GT from my bayside home in South East Queensland, Australia. koth442
Welcome!! We've got a couple people from your area on the forum. I grew up in Foresthill and lived in West Sac until a few years ago. Enjoy the bike and the beautiful northern CA twisties! '15 FJ09
Premium Member keithu Posted December 21, 2018 Premium Member Share Posted December 21, 2018 Welcome to the world of manageable motorcycles! Not only are lighter bikes easier to move around in the garage, they're also less fatiguing on twisty roads. I can ride 400-600 miles of twisties on my FJ in a day and still feel great afterwards. On my old 600lbs BMW K100RS my wrists and shoulders were limp noodles after just 100-200 miles on the same types of roads, and I was still in my 20s when I had that tank. You don't need a land yacht to ride long distances!
