I've had to hacksaw tyres off an old Brit bike as they were like wood. But I meant how do you tell before ordering ? It's much easier to go for a recent dot tyre, asking for the date is pretty easy, trusting a salesperson on its storage method, mmm. I'm getting away from the point here though. It was just a beware, there are old model 4's that are also quite old stock, and old model 4's that are much newer rubber. All 4's weren't made in the same year. It's worth checking. Or just get 5's. What seems to be the trend, is that the newer tyres are getting better at grip and wear. Not so long ago it was a trade off. My 4's lasted way longer than the oem dunlops, and gripped better. Well, I thought so anyway.
