bugie
Would some kind soul with a GT be kind enough to take a pic of the placement of the spacers on the front wheel. I changed my front tyre and have a nagging suspicion the tyre shop may have installed them incorrectly. Thanks in advance.

To be honest I was suspicious of the fact that the spacer narrows near the fork. I was worried that part was supposed to slide into the wheel. Unfortunately I haven't managed to find an adapter that fits the axle bolt so so far have been unable to remove it to check
vincep
Reference adapter for front wheel - I think a 14mm allen wrench - someone else on this forum posted that they use a bolt with a 14mm head, lock two nuts together on the shaft of the bolt and use that. I have a 14mm allen wrench, but it is too large to carry on the bike, so I use a 14mm headed bolt as described above to carry on the bike.
mike
You can also use a coupling nut. I can't remember the size exactly but is is something like 5 or 7/16 inch.
BBB
I use a 14mm hex socket, which is small enough to carry on the bike if you needed to.
