This is what I do on my BMW K bike, not on the FJ-09. I've not had surging issues with the yammy. The beemer, she's a jealous mistress - needs lots of the right kind of attention. That having been said, if my FJ started surging, you bet this would be the first thing I'd try. Out of superstition, if nothing else.
