Little Nestucca River and old 101

I can't believe that after 23 years in Oregon there are still twisty roads within a fuel tank of my house that I haven't ridden. It bothers me.

So, with a day off work I decided to skip chores and take a little morning ride out to the coast. I rode OR-18/22 which I've done many times, but this time instead of going on towards Tillamook I detoured west on Little Nestucca River Road (OR-130). This was a fun, low-traffic road with some great views of the rushing Little Nestucca River.

At US-101 I turned south, with a quick stop at an ocean overlook. Surfers: there are some epic waves on the Oregon coast today!

I then rode Old Highway 101 to Otis. This road got pretty rustic, with lots of broken pavement, fir needles, sticks, and numerous trees in the road. If you ride Old 101 I recommend that you bring a chainsaw.

Back in Albany I discovered that I brought quite a bit of the forest home with me. I can't remember when my FJ has ever been so filthy.
