Stock tire life 8000 miles and counting

So I have always gotten good life out of my tires. Running higher psi, and cold. I got 12000 miles out of pirelli gt rear on my cbr in 2009. 

Riding in the cold and now gravel alot prolongs life. 

Was supposed to be at the dragon this weekend. So I went for a short ride today. Finally close to 8000 miles still on stock tires. Picking up my kid after work and not riding under 40°f now has cut my mileage to 1/4 what it was. Close to the wear bars, but not there yet.

That is some impressive mileage you can get out of a rear tire.👍 I just don't have that much self control.

That is quite impressive. 

I think you are right about cold roads extending mileage. I got 10k miles out of my last PR4 rear, but I commute through Oregon's winter so a lot of my riding is on damp roads with temps in the 35-50F range.

That is impressive.  I have taken two cross country trips on two fj and both had stock tires. Both bikes ended with 7-8 on the clocks bu the tires did need replaced. However I still felt could easily squeeze a grand more at least.

My stock Dunlop rear tire was gone at 4,000 miles. I wore out the sides in just a few days in the TN/NC area. Living in Indiana that was the first time I've ever wore out the sides first.

My stock tyres had done about 9000 miles with about 1000 miles left on the rear but decided to replace both before getting ready to do a couple of short trips in Belgium and France

8000miles is very good.

change them out once u have the chance 😀
