Stock tire life 8000 miles and counting

Recommended Posts

So I have always gotten good life out of my tires. Running higher psi, and cold. I got 12000 miles out of pirelli gt rear on my cbr in 2009.

Riding in the cold and now gravel alot prolongs life.

Was supposed to be at the dragon this weekend. So I went for a short ride today. Finally close to 8000 miles still on stock tires. Picking up my kid after work and not riding under 40°f now has cut my mileage to 1/4 what it was. Close to the wear bars, but not there yet. 20200411_205945.thumb.jpg.a5b059541b028a2ddc0ce8b09d3ebd89.jpg

That is quite impressive.

I think you are right about cold roads extending mileage. I got 10k miles out of my last PR4 rear, but I commute through Oregon's winter so a lot of my riding is on damp roads with temps in the 35-50F range.
