I hadn't seen the alternative, SW Motech makes great products. I am pleased with the Yamaha bag.

It isn't waterproof, but comes with a waterproof bag that fits inside the case. $429 CDN. It is secured with straps, front straps connect to the frame and the rear ones fit under the rear license plate holder. It comes with adapters to secure it to the license plate holder as well. It is adjustable for more storage. It can be carried as a backpack with extra straps(supplied). I'll take a pic with it on. The cost of a luggage rack and topcase was a lot higher.

I purchased the Yamaha Rear Seat bag for my Tracer. It is well constructed and secures very easily.

I have a few friends that have V-Stroms and they love my Tracer. Enjoy what you have!

Did you have to remove any parts to install?

My 2022 bike was diffcult to drive away smoothly in first. I changed the original oil and all is well.

I went from a BMW K1300GT to a Tracer 9GT and love the downsize. The Tracer has less power and less weight but still is quick. I love the quick shifter.

Too bad that you are leaving, I still post on a BMW site now even though I sold my 2009 K1300GT. There is info on sites that may not be specific to your bike but may provide insight.

What about hand protection in a crash.

Both top and side cases are excellent for trips, but I prefer only side cases as it is easier to swing my leg over the bike and not kick the top case.

I use a SP Connect mount on my bike. I have the phone case already and the case fits on my Cannondale bicycle. The mounts are very similar.

I replaced my BMW Allround glove and got Klim Vanguard GTX. They fit well with foam knuckles and e-tips. Can't ride yet, so I can't offer a riding experience.
