Could you elaborate on "scary"? I don't want to read about someone toppling into a canyon trying to get their bike in *just* the right spot. Didn't someone just say there were no rules to this game, besides with so many guys modding their bikes to get rid of the 115 mph speed limiter I don't think toppling into a canyon sounds so bad.

Hate to be a game hog but this was just too easy. Next one is your bike parked in a scary spot.

You may want to do a trial run with that large sw-motech bag especially considering the roads you'll be on. I did a trip with some friends up through eastern Canada's maritime provinces and one of the guys had a similar set up on his bike. When we started out he thought it was great because he had a nice backrest but after a few days on the bumpy northern roads the gear in that bag would settle and push against his back. It probably wouldn't have been as bad if it was just clothes but he had his camping gear in there as well. Anyway after two weeks of dealing with that he was glad to be off the bike and I don't know what he ever did with that bag but on the next trip we did he had a new bike with hard bags.

Hahaha.. the point of my post was that there were no rules. @bbb makes some valid points. I agree with @phpaul 's sentiment. Kinda funny though, I was just being a wise ass and those guys thought I was serious , what can I say....they never met me.

I think it's open to interpretation.. I say if you can make an argument, post it. Well I'm just a simple country boy but maybe some great and powerful person like the Wizard of OZ or a perhaps a (Global Moderator duhs10) should set some rules for this game.

Get creative! City road repair equipment... maybe a Harley-Davidson? Something tells me the interpretation of ‘good enough’ is going to be very generous Well you can't please all of the people all of the time. :-/

Question for you guys with the Dolomiti cases, can you leave them unlocked and just use the latch or do you have use the key every time you open them? Thanks -
Motorcycle Carriers for Trailer Hitches?
britelitebob replied to PFJohns's topic in FJ-09 Tech Questions
A class-3 hitch it would have to be... and this kind of load bouncing around in the back would tear that uni-body apart in a hurry. The problem wasn't so much the weight as it was the the stability because it rocked back and forth like a sea-saw in the receiver, and then the tie down points were a bit too close for comfort. -
Motorcycle Carriers for Trailer Hitches?
britelitebob replied to PFJohns's topic in FJ-09 Tech Questions
I was given one of those hitch carriers with a used bike I bought from a guy some time ago. I tried it out one time on a 200# dirt bike and it was pretty scary so I ended up giving it to a kid with a pit bike, I can't imagine you would feel very comfortable with a 500# bike on one of them contraptions even if you could get it up there. -
That's exactly what I would have said.

I just don't think anyone wanted to admit that they ate at McDonalds.

To beak or not to beak .....
britelitebob replied to fivesteezy's topic in FJ-09 Parts and Accessory reviews
I'm sure these guys really give a shet about what we do and say on here (the photos are still there BTW). Now... eBay might be interested in the complaint and you might see some action (seller/post taken down)... possibly. It's a game of whack-a-mole though. I really don't give a hoot about them using the pics, hell if I knew they were going to be used for product marketing I would have got out my good camera, I doubt that Powerbronze will feel the same way though. -

They must be monitoring the beak thread, obviously some real smooth operators, maybe they got spooked when I mentioned the lawyer. I think it may be these guys. -

Direct copy of the Powerbronze design... in fiberglass.Wow these guys are some real bottom dwellers, not only did they rip-off the design from Powerbronze, but they robbed the photos from this thread for their description. The reason I know this is because the two pics of the red bike sitting behind the tractor are mine. And speaking of bottom dwellers, is there an attorney in the house? -
To beak or not to beak .....
britelitebob replied to fivesteezy's topic in FJ-09 Parts and Accessory reviews
I also really like the look, it really does "complete" the bike IMO, but daggonit the price for a l'il piece of plastic... Nope No worries mate, now that Powerbronze has done all the design, engineering and marketing, it shouldn't be long before the cheap Chinese knock-offs start showing up on ebay. -
Nice beak

Are they gonna have the bikini bike washes going on there?

That's what matter more than anything. The beak keeps the bugs out of your horn. -
It sounds like a lot of fun. How about "take a picture of your FJ in a garage"... In the garage next to a hamburger

What are the temps like? That pics from a little over a week ago and the weather was perfect that week, cool and clear with frost a couple mornings and highs around 70.
