  1. Last week in Arkansas, rode 1500 miles. Found the motor to be playful and the bike extreamly flickable.
  2. Hey Steve, what glue did you use? 2 sided tape, an epoxy? Do tell......
  3. Camping? That looks like The Beverley Hillbillies, LOL! Here's some pix of the FJ I bought in Texas. I live in NW Louisiana. Very happy with my purchase. This thing is just so darn flickible compaired to my ZRX1100 or my ole ZX11 that I sold to buy the FJ.

  5. Got mine from there too; http://www.service-shop-repair-manual.com/yamaha-fj-09-part-lit-11616-28-46-service-shop-repair-manual/ $45.00 now and 8 bucks shipping to Louisiana. Wrapped very well. I can see why it's so much. It's as thick as War and Peace, LOL!
  6. When I bought this bike a few weeks ago this small dark smoke shield the previous owner put on I'm liking a bunch. I'm an ole VMax guy. The shield reminds me of the old small shield that just covered the round speedo on top of the triple tree. It took the wind off your chest and you get clean air to your helmet. Not for touring of course but for every day it works for me. Cheap too! 7. We had a similar problem with the Yamaha VMax. Our difference was that it makes the bike die but you still have a headlight, dash lights, etc. On this, I'd go with the ignition switch but first I would make sure my main ground is good. OHM it out. That was also weak on the VMax and we had a cmember who made some and sold them. Anyway, I'd go the ground, ignition route.
  8. Yes I see now on those last 2 responses I should have hit Quote instead of reply. Oh well, now I know.
  9. Hill Country, Bandara, TX. Chip seal year after year. With the way I ride. Lots of engine breaking and using your gears as breaks. Tires don't last long. And yes Roadsmart II's are nice. Now let's see how much they improved the Roadsmart III. Used to run Avon 79's and 80's. Lucky to get 1,200 miles out of a rear. Very high on confidence running them. Very good feel. If I'm 1/2 way thru a set f tires and going to The Hill Country in Tx I put on a new set. 1/2 or less tread and 800 miles....they won't make it.
  10. Same here you got how many miles......???? Keep Asheville weird! Was in the downtown area last year during IRMA in September. Good eats and some local entertainment, good stuff.
  11. We go on a yearly pilgrimage each fall. Love it in the Smokies! Plan is to sell my 2 Kawasaki's and get an FJ in the spring.
