Glad to hear. I am newer than you to this journey so nice to know mileage and trouble free operation, I hope, I hope, is on my side so to speak. Plan to have this bike till retirement, 4.5 to 7.3 years. Sounds like a good bet!

Yes Ducati does make pieces of art as well as nicely done motorcycles. Aprilia Tuonos do the same thing to me. Doesn't matter, early V Twins to now a monster V-4 and still in the 400 something pound weight. Just does something inside, ya-know?

I had the same problem with this bike. Asked the boss, my friends, techs at work to talk me out of it. I already had a ZRX1100 i didn't need another 1100. BUT I wanted it........and dang it I bought it. Rode it like a stole it for 7 years and sold it. Great bike for something that zips right up to 150 MPH. Ole mans crotch rocked with handle bars. Yes those are handle bars on the ZX11 Ninja. My sport tourer before I wanted something lighter, in walks the FJ.

I will miss your ideas and riding experiences. Sitting here thinking about it. I just turned 60.......I hope to ride till 80. That's 20 more years. WOW! what you've done is quite the accomplishment. I wouldn't say I'm going from a Tracer to slippers........maybe Tracer to Lawn Tractor, HA! Take care, you shall be missed! ☕

I got 3,600 to the cords on my ZX11 Ninja keeping up with Gen2 VMaxes coming out of corners and zipping up to 150-160 on the straights. That hard acceleration on the straights wore it right thru the center of the tire. Looked for the pix of it right quick but don't see 'em. Off to work now......

If that's the case I'm at 3,791 miles right now so probably won't get 4,500 miles maybe call it 4,000 even. As you can see I wasn't too hard on it. The tread left along the sides isn't turned back. You can see I wasn't dogging it out of the corners. Been trying to be smoother instead of sliding the tire as much. Hope to get the slipper clutch parts from Yamaha this winter. That will help allot. I have learned over the last 5 years or so getting from 55 to 60 that it's my riding style that is so hard on the tires. Trying to change but at this age it's a bit mute I think, LOL! But hey I will try to adapt. I Must Assimilate, Resistance is Futile, HA! I use the 2nd trip meter for the tire mileage gauge at this point. Used it for the oil change till I started trying out different tires. Betoney, still not happy with the engine breaking on 2nd gear. I'm getting used to 3rd and 4th but 2nd it still acts like a carburated bike that is lean. You know how a carburatored bike hangs high on the idle when you rev it up? When you get the bike up past 7,000 rpms or so it doesn't have much engine braking to be on and off the throttle without brakes at all. I'm putting on a chain this winter. If I go up 2 teeth in the rear do I need to add more links than the 110 standard? Hoping the change in gearing and will help with the 2nd gear engine braking I want and using 2nd on tight 25 to 35 mph up hill tight axx curves instead of 1st. Getting the nicest X-Ring chain and good sprockets so I'm not adjusting the chain every 1,000 miles like stock stuff. Good chain = adj. once every 10 to 12,000 miles. Learned that on my 1100 Kawasaki's. I don't go that much over 100 anymore so I don't think I'll notice a difference in my top end any. I don't get close to it. I find myself running 2, 3 and 4th mostly then shift easy into 5th and 6th out on a straight and putt around 75 mph. my standard speed. I just seem to go 75. Don't know why but when I look down and I'm just droning along it's 75 or so mph. Anyway, chain length 110 OK?

Mike, I just got the RS IIs online front and back to my door for $161.76. $95 for the rear and $67 for the front. Bought 2 sets and born on date of 11th week, 2019. Maybe Dunlop is making more of them to continue this line also. For the price they are hard to turn down. I ran these on my ZX11 and ZRX1100 and got 3500 miles from the rears. Hope to get more with a lighter bike with less HP. OK, here I am at 3,791 miles on the rear Angel GT. Might have 500 or so miles left. The front tire almost lasted 2 rears but I think I've gotten the good out of it. Not much left. So I might get 4,500 out of the Angel GT. Best so far. I got such a good deal on Roadsmart II's I won't be trying Michelin's till I run out of those. Thanks for the tip Betoney, best mileage for the buck so far. 4,500 miles for 169 to my door.

Never. I took off my rear pegs and put on blanking plates to save weight. I put some weight on the bike with a rear rack and bags. Take off where you can. Also the hand guards are off the bike.

I loved my 1st foray into jet skis, Sea-Doo just put in a new motor, 650 cc 2 cyl 2-stroke. Did 60 mph on the water right out of the box and was about 350 lbs. You swirled the heads and bumped up the compression, put on an exspansion Chamber with a pill kit so you decide how much water goes to the pipe for torque or top end. Loved them they were light weight. Now it's 4 strokes, close to 1,000 lbs. wales. I bought 2 of the turbo Honda's back in 2008. 1 2-seater and a 3-seater, both turbos. Fast yes. Slig-aroundable???? NO! Yes 2 strokes are better dirt bike, lighter weight and less parts.

Back in the day we didn't have center stands. Dirt bikes and such we sat on the bike and set it from that. There were only side stands till you got to bigger bikes. Now my 50 cc ZUMA scooter has a center stand but no side stand, WTH? Then my ZRX1100 only had a side stand.

And I check mine sitting on the bike reaching down with my left hand. Been doing it that way since I was a kid. It was nice those 15 years or so when i owned VMaxes. Shaft drive and all. Change the rear end gear oil once a year, oh that's tuff! 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 when it's on the center stand might work out to 1 to 1 1/2 when sitting on the bike. That's how you're measuring the slack correct? Sitting on the bike? Seems like you won't get the correct slack on the center stand. That's been the chain slack I've used on all my bikes since i was a kid. 1 to 1 1/2 inches. More like 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches. Pretty standard I think.

Me too! Dang this thing sits high for a 31 or so inseam....... I'm 6'2" but all torso, no leg.

This is my 1st fuel injected bike. All others were carbs. i have adjusted how I ride it and have sometimes even gone to "B" mode on tight twisties to smooth the throttle even more. It was annoying at 1st but as a human I have adapted, resistance is futile....

Have you set the tightness on your headset bearings? With the bike on the center stand. Have someone sit back on the bike or on the pillion to get the front tire in the air. Grab the bottom of the forks and lift up and down and see if there is any looseness or clunk. There are also threads on here where people have put different style bearings in the front end. I don't think it's necessary to go that far but repacking the bearings and setting them will probably fix it. Did it to many a VMax with head shake.

Was there last week with old friends. Yes upper Hwy 28, "Moonshiners'" as it's known is excellent with tight corners down to a posted 10 mph on up to the high speed sweepers at 80-90 mph. Lots of nice shady areas on the ride kept it cool. One of my faves too!

Well that sux. Sorry to hear that but going through a ditch might have bent something. Do stuff like take the calipers off let them hang and spin the front tire. Loosen the axle and see how it does. then on to checking the axle, then the rim. Not sure how you check forks. I'm sure someone will chime in. Good luck, I know it would be driving me crazy. It's my bike man, an extension of me......and it's hurting.

So have you tried another O2 sensor? Did you take it to the dealer or are you profecent in using tools? Enquiring minds have to know.......
