  1. You made a good choice. I sold my ZX11 Ninja and ZRX1100 and bought my single owner '15 with 2,348 miles for 7 grand cash. Have almost 11,000 miles on it now a year and 3 months later. Very pleased with my purchase. Welcome to the forum, "Search" is your friend. We've talked about A LOT of topics on this bike so search for it and you'll get quick answers and not have to wait for someone to comment. A categories, like windshields. We've reviewed every windshield there is out there even on the Chinese eBay. Even customizing your stock windshield and clip on tops on aftermarket windshields and OEM windshields. same with the next category. Lots of good info, and remember. The best thing you can do to your bike is to go out and ride it.

  3. Heck if you have the time over the weekend. Take the body work off around the speedo unit and track the wire bundles to their plugs. Unplug and re-plug the connectors. Disconnect the battery 1st!!! Once you've re-plugged tthe connectors, hook the battery up and see if it comes back on. You might save yourself a half day and easy 150.00 to 250.00 for a quick find by the service tech. I work on copiers and we re-plug lots of times for weird connection problems. Might save a buck!

  5. Went on for the Pirelli rebates and saw they had some of the Dunlop RoadSmart II's for sale. Got 2 rears and a front for less than 1 set of the Angel GT's. $250.00 for a set plus an extra rear to my door. I got 3,600 out of a rear RoadSmart down to the cords. Plus that mileage was on my old ZX11 Ninja. That tire had a lot of coming out of the corner and kicking it down to 3rd and WOT up to 150-160 MPH to keep up with those darn Gen 2 VMaxes. Gen 2's come out of the twisties and pretty much roll on the throttle in 5th then 6th right up to 150-160 in moments with the torque they have. Now that I'm on a 900 triple I don't even try so I'm not burning off the center of the tire with hard acceleration. Hoping to get at least 4,000 miles a rear out of the RoadSmart II's. The site said they still had 3 rears at 96 bucks each. Don't remember how many fronts at 67 bucks each. I was running RoadSmart II's on both my ZRX1100 and my ZX11 for mileage and grip. So if your looking for a bargain on a "good" sport touring tire they have a few left.
  6. I use the delicate cycle on the washer. I put hte jacket in 1 load then the pants in a 2nd load. I put the jacket in without the armor, then let the washer fill with water and laundry soap. Let the jacket run for the 1st washer agitation. Then cut off for 30 minutes to soak. Then run the rest of the delicate cycle. Go back and run the rinse cyle again. Hang up to dry on the nice thick hanger that came with the jacket. I do this once to twice a year as needed. So far it's been OK with Speed and Strength, Rev-it, Tourmaster and AGV. No damage. Make sure you remove the armor. It will crumble if you wash it......don't ask me how I know......
  7. Welcome from across the pond. The forum will make ya feel like we're right next door....well maybe not that close. Like duhs says, there is a wealth of info on here. The search works pretty well. Remember use key words. There are different sections for different mods, 1 for windshields. Everything ya want to know about windshields......it's in there. Suspension, the same, After market seats, on and on. And the main thing......get out and ride the bike. Setup your suspension and see how everything feels. Adjust bars, brake and clutch handles so your two fingers hang just right on them. Then ride it a bit and see if then you need to change something. They've refined the Tracer GT a bit from the FJ but I still love my 2015 FJ because it was like new, 2348 miles and bought it May 2018 for $7,000 from the original owner. Yes like you said it is a value!
  8. The three lines pictured are a cosmetic aspect of the tire only, and are not used to indicate anything. Well they just took the fun out of it didn't they?
  9. Yup put mine on last winter. used this video and it was easy. Like you say, step by step.
  10. Yeah, found it in documents, it's a zip file but doesn't end in jpeg. jpe, jpg, etc. it's about 8.5 MBs.
  11. If you do your own valve adjs as I do here's a chart to help with valve sizes needed with the clearance you have before the change; file:///C:/Users/TKTPKZ/Documents/Valve%20Adj%20Files/Valve%20adjustment%20calculator.htm Hopefully the link will work........I used it for my ZRX1100 and my ZX11 but it will work with most bikes. I just like that it does the math for you. You put in the intake lower and upper clearance and your measurements of what you have , it tells you the size shim you need. Same with exhaust.
  12. Ah-Ha-Ha-Ha-Ha!!!!!I have a video of this bike and the red VMax behind it drag racing but it's 34 MBs so it won't fit here. Oh yeah, Gen2 VMaxes have 196 HP after a re-flash. Not sure of the Torque.
  13. That's cool! I don't do any commuting, but good to know. 😀
  14. And running in "B" mode. And here in Louisiana you don't see 77 degrees unless it's before 7am. Some mornings this time of year it isn't below 80 in the morning. No it's NOT man-made climate change. It's been like this since I was born in the 1950's. 😏
  15. It's because you went to California and your a Patriots Fan.........Written by a Raiders Fan......Da' Raiders!!!!! 🤣 Sorry I couldn't help myself.
  16. I remember Tucker and Vaughan. Been over 45 years......
  17. I haven't been there since the mid 70's at Riverside Military Academy. Ah the memories, the rebellious teenager.
  18. Spent my teenage years in Ft Lauderdale at Riverside Military Academy. We were there 3 months over the winter. Almost bought a place from a friend in Coca Beach. Went down and checked it out. The only reason I could see having a bike in Florida is to bar hop. More power to ya my friend. I live in Louisiana just south of the Arkansas border. I have no problem doing 400-450 miles a day for 2 days and can ride twisties for most of the hours I'm riding those 2 days. Maybe 3 hours of that weekend I'm not in the twisties. From Coca Beach I can't make it to Georgia fast enough. Plus i learned you can't open chips outside in Florida. They are soggy in 10 minutes, 🙁
  19. Yes indeed! 318 miles, 11 curves, HA!
  20. Ah ha ha ha ha! this is why in Louisiana i stop at truck stops and drink coffee for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Half hour before sunset and 1 hour to an hour and a half after sunset to let the bugs clear. You can drink coffee for 1 1/2 hours or scrub off bugs for the same time, your choice. Mine is coffee! 🤣 Also I use Turtle Wax ICE on my bike and helmet all over. Even my face shield. Bugs come right back off. Water beads off like rain x also.
  21. I know there was a high mileage thread somewhere on here.......Guys had more than 100,000 miles on the FJ, 2015's too. Seems there are plenty out there without any problems. I wouldn't be jaded on it. Look at the condition of the bike and decide on what the bike is worth to you and make an offer. Like I said. There are a good number out there with over 100,000 miles.
  22. 2WDW will reflash for free for life. When you had it flashed you told them the exhaust you were using correct? If you think something got corrupted you can send it back also. I've used the 2WDW flash for the last year, 8,000 miles and the only thing my bike has done is 1 time it died as I turned onto my street. 1 time that's it. Besides that I got better gas mileage and can go over 115 MPH.
  23. I'm sure what he is saying is the actual light shape the head light throws on the road is backwards to here in the states. As in driving on different sides. You can move our shape right to left and up and down but the shape of the light refraction from the lens inside the head lamp is different. Hard to explain but hopefully I got it across.
  24. You got lucky Skip. I've tried a couple of times. Once with mine and once with a friends BMW. Neither time did it work. The BMW was going down a hill. Both with 2 people pushing. So what happened Lance? Did battery hold a charge?
  25. I'm looking at the bike tied down, I have a 2015 and I just use the lower triple camp. Then I look in the bottom left of the picture and see the Roadmaster Woodie Wagon.....and wonder if it has the rear facing seat looking out the back window. Then I think naw, you don't need to write any retort about it, no one else will probably notice it. Then low and behold, what do I see? Couple of regulars commenting on the Roadmaster, Ha! Small world, small world. Ah, the memories.
